โDissent must never lead to disorderโ - President Biden.
From Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.โs โLetter From Birmingham Jail,โ written in 1963:
โI have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season."
This is the epitome of Twitter 1.0 and no amount of money or hubris will ever be able to destroy it. The story behind the #LoveWhereYouWork hashtag.
๐ Tweeps, our bond is unbreakable. ๐
#LoveWhereYouWorked#OneTeam
6.5 years ago I borrowed $500 to buy myself a flight to SF to interview for an SDR role at Twitter. I prepped for hours and hours and was SO nervous. Why would anyone take a shot on a Latina non profit legal assistant trying to get into tech? But I got the job! (s/o @mattiebabb)
along the way. Tweeps quickly became some of my best friends, supportive mentors, and the best coworkers I could have asked for. I never imagined saying goodbye this way, but I am leaving with an incredibly full heart and the most beautiful memories. ๐๐๐
@mattiebabb I am so grateful to this place for bringing you into my life. Grateful for the friendship, laughter, and light. Grateful also that you let me live in your basement for two years ๐คฃ. You're stuck with me!! You're family.
