🇰🇪 Kenya has launched the INTERPOL Policing Capabilities Foundation Course, helping officers connect their local expertise with global policing networks.
Officers will learn how to use our databases, secure communications platforms and investigative tools to strengthen the response to evolving threats, including sexual and gender-based violence.
Supported by Project Soteria, the course helps ensure perpetrators don’t exploit jurisdictional gaps.
By investing in training and international cooperation, Kenya is strengthening its role in protecting communities both nationally and across the region.

Around the world, police officers stand on the frontlines to protect their communities. They don’t count their hours. They miss family moments. They face risks most people never see. This plays out every day, in every region.
At INTERPOL, our mission is to make sure they never stand alone, that wherever they are, they’re backed by a global network committed to the same fight against crime.
The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women - and the start of #16Days of Activism - is an opportunity for us to unite and reaffirm our commitment to protection, accountability and justice.

Unknown woman in Spanish cold case named after 20 years.
A woman whose body was found in Spain two decades ago has been identified as Russian citizen Liudmila Zavada.
The cold case is part of #IdentifyMe, an international campaign to identity women who were murdered.
As part of the initiative, INTERPOL shared the biometric records of the cases with all its 196 member countries, with renewed calls for law enforcement to run the data through their national databases.
A breakthrough came in 2025 when police in Türkiye🇹🇷 ran the fingerprints associated with ‘The woman in pink’ through a national biometric database, resulting in a match with Russian national Liudmila Zavada, aged 31 at the time of her death.
The match was subsequently confirmed through kinship DNA analysis using the DNA of one of Liudmila Zavada’s close relatives.

"Let's be clear.
The creeping annexation of the West Bank is illegal. It must stop.
The wholescale destruction of Gaza is intolerable. It must stop.
Unilateral actions that would forever undermine the two-State solution are unacceptable.
They must stop." - @antonioguterres
