Posting about politics is not a regular occurrence for me, but sometimes I strongly feel that the people of the Maldives 🇲🇻 should take a moment to reflect. Why must we engage in conflicts with our neighboring countries, especially those who have consistently supported us whenever we've needed assistance?
It appears that certain individuals, upon assuming political roles, lack a sense of discretion in their speech.
Consider this: We rely on doctors, teachers, investors, and tourists from India. Additionally, many of us have ancestral ties to India 😂😂
Yet, despite these connections, there seems to be a disdain for India 🇮🇳. I question whether this sentiment reflects the majority of Maldivians or if it's the result of a select group of politicians pursuing their own agendas.
Rather than fostering animosity, we should prioritize spreading love and harmony. Those in power have a limited time to govern; therefore, let's work together to build our nation positively instead of undermining its progress.
@CatamaranM I think if Maldives’s as 1 nation can’t handle things, we southern Islands shout start calling our selves a separate nation.. #ReInstate #Suvadive
"I strongly condemn the derogatory remarks & racist comments," says @Ahmed_Adeeb, Former Vice President & Tourism Minister of Maldives in an #exclusive talk with @siddhantvm@Ahmed_Adeeb: India & Maldives should move forward hand in hand & give no room for misunderstanding
This statement by @MoFAmv is not nearly sufficient. There is no acknowledgment of responsibility, but rather a defense that government officials have the right to contravene official policy.
Maldives’ international standing has been harmed - political loyalty to individuals absolutely cannot have priority over the interests of the country.
Our citizens deserve a government that is big enough to accept responsibility for mistakes and take appropriate corrective action.
We are not asking for much, only for accountability.
#istandwithIndia
@BBCWorld Hell ya 🖕🏽how do you say Maldives Newly elected president is Chinese pro or shit ? do you have any rights to broadcast shits on baseless allegations? #boycotBBCWorld
