Congrats to @brattray and the https://t.co/f67anLEJRC team! This will go down in history as a quintessential case study of how one of the world's largest social enterprises set up its governance structure to support long-term growth and mission alignment.https://t.co/keb60Ft94I
Police are out of control and have too much power over our lives. They constantly violate rules and laws with no accountability. They have failed in their fundemtal job — safety — because they are focused on control not safety. The incentives for policing simply do not work!
I’ve been talking about racism on TV now for over 35 years, but I don’t recall a moment quite like this one. And just like many of you, I’ve been talking with friends and I noticed the same questions kept coming up: Is this the moment that will finally change our country?
I gotta be honest the worst looting I've ever seen take place happened a few weeks ago when corporations collected over 500 billion dollars in stimulus money while everyone else was left with a $1200 dollar check and having to decide if they pay for food or rent..
As another wave of white folks decide *now* things have gone too far, *now* I need to get involved, I thought I'd share what @4noura and I learned when we studied how attitudes & behaviors of white activists can cause burnout in antiracist activists of color. (1/thread)
The idea that communities of color alone are responsible for fighting racism is misguided and can have dangerous consequences. It’s not enough to stand as an ally. We must be anti-racist. White Americans must ask ourselves what we are doing every day to dismantle systemic racism.
