@ClayTravis You mean the mainstream Democrat who was from Milwaukee and is relatively popular here? It strikes you as odd that he did well on his home turf?
@wisconsin_now When the statement she issued hours after the shooting called it an "execution," it was obvious she was more interested in pandering than responsible leadership. Shame on her. Justice is not meted by an angry mob operating on emotion, it takes time, patience and evidence.
@RickEsenberg If anything, this is an opportunity for conservatives to be an example of how to deal with distasteful, hateful, and legal speech-- more speech (provide a better perspective!) or simply ignore.
@dgrenwich I think the job matters. eg Anyone who takes care of others demonstrates an inability to do their job. Iโd include teachers into a category of people unqualified to do their job if theyโe stupid enough to publicly celebrate. A college professor? Iโm not sure.
Someone in the newsroom said that this shattering event feels like the aftermath of another Charlie: Charlie Hebdo. It was a decade ago that Islamists burst into the offices of the satirical Paris newspaper and murdered 12 people who worked there.
In its aftermath there were a lot of spineless statements from people distancing themselves from the brave journalists who put out that magazine: โI didnโt agree with them but . . .โ
Weโre hearing the same thing now about Charlie Kirk.
No.
Whether you agree with him or not is completely, utterly, totally beside the point. We wonโt do it. Je suis Charlie.

@NBCNews Good. Given their job of shaping the minds of our youth, that is appropriate. Barring having the wisdom to say nothing, the only other proper response is something akin to expressing sympathy. Thatโs it.
