Dear Catholic Converts!
First and foremost, WELCOME. HOME!
The below post prompted me to reply to him, but I wanted to quote it with my same thoughts to share for ALL!
The one MAJOR thing missing from his post is Vocation or calling. We are NOT called to just sit in the pews, pray the Rosary, listen to Catholic Apologetics, or read the Bible or church fathers or other self centered acts.
We can relate all of Sin to selfishness and that is the wall Jesus was trying to tear down! Want to know what you can do? Be in service to your local Parish! Here are some ideas...
Join the choir.
If you're a woman, join the CCW.
If you're a man, join the Knights of Columbus.
Have a knack for decorating, join Arts and Environment.
Join the Ushers.
Become a Eucharistic Minister that goes to the Hospitals.
Become a Catechist and teach the Faith. (We have certified curriculum so you don't need to be a 10 year Theologian!)
There is so much you can do for the Catholic church, but it starta with you going to your Pastor and saying FOUR words!
"How can I help?"
Repost and spread.

What would you add...?
Well, lets think about this for a moment...
I am correcting her bad statements about Catholicism that are not based on any facts.
Now if I am correcting her on her denominational views and I am wrong, then I would be committing a Sin. Think about it for a moment.
Let me put it another way... She is in farming...
She says, "Fertilizer is the key to good farming."
I say, "No, the key plant poison."
See, I just committed a sin for trying to correct her in something that she knows about and obviously I made a ridiculous statement that I have NO specialty knowledge in at all.
So her trying to correct a 2,000 year old Church that has been guided by the Holy Spirit while empire after empire has fallen around it (because it quite literally is being protected by God) is the Sin.
Nice try though. Muting you now for probably the dumbest take on the Internet. In case you don't know why it is dumb, I suggest you go to an expert in any field you know nothing about and try "correcting" them...
@mark_calme17445@MrCasey62@grok You are correct. The term/title "bishop" came about later, but Apostle = Bishop.
In the end my friend, I see it took time for you to reply. We are going to have to agree to disagree. You can move forward being a meme:
I was about to answer this question...
1st off, I think our friend @LeeRMonroe left the conversation as I noticed when we reply at this point, his handle is now off. So I am adding him on my reply.
Great job @MDnightMarawder in defending the Faith!
I would like to add the BIGGEST missed concept being overlooked (as usual) is the role of the Holy Spirit. To understand that a person who is truly "inspired" by the Holy Spirit is a person who wrote each book in the Bible. Hence why the Bible is called "he INSPIRED word of God". To be Christian means to fully believe that all of us are touched by the Holy Spirit. That means that as I am typing this message right now, God (the Holy Spirit) is inspiring my words in this post. It is God's will acting upon me.
Now that I have better defined the role of the Holy Spirit, we can look at why Catholicism (RCC and EO) are the Church of Christ as established instead of the other ones. Apostolic Succession is an UNBROKEN chain of the Church clergy going back directly to Jesus Christ and his commissioning of the 12 Apostles. It is completely backed up as seen in the image below. Now, in order for that succession to have been stopped, would have been ONLY from Jesus Christ Himself. Why? Because John 20:19-23 and NO ONE can deny those words. To deny those words, is to deny Jesus Himself. So what you would have to do, is go through 2,000 years of history and find evidence (historical writing) when Jesus came back and revoked the power he gave in John 20:19-23 that has been handed down from one Bishop to new Priests through the "Laying of Hands" (Sacrament of Holy Orders). If you can find that evidence, I personally would walk away from the Catholic Church and join your Church.
Now with the understanding of Apostolic Succession, we can return to the concept of the Holy Spirit. That guiding spirit that make Catholicism the living and breathing Church of Jesus Christ. How do you think it would work? It really is more simple than you realize. Take for a moment to consider what it takes to become a Priest. I had this long conversation with Grok about it the other day because I (even as a Catholic) do not know the full details because I did not have the calling. In order to become a Priest, they literally have to go through more OFFICIAL education and study to get their Doctorate. That means they even must prove themselves by writing consistently in their field. They go through "basic training" or "boot camp" (AKA Seminary) to literally drill themselves to not even react to the most absurd of things they might hear in a Confessional! Why do I bring this all up? Well to show you how these men are honed and how get 5500 Bishops to agree on something is an Act of God (AKA the guidance of the Holy Spirit). Think about everything that is written in the Catechism. Everything that is Canon Law. That means all of the men through the duration of 2,000 years had to come together, discern/meditate on any single Theological question/topic, and come to a common consensus upon that topic. Now try and do that with all of the Pastors from Baptists, Methodists, Evangelicals, and whatever other denomination. Then keep in mind that NOT one single denomination outside of Catholicism (RCC and EO) can trace their lineage directly back to Jesus Christ without some gap.
Did I answer the direct question? I would say yes. The rest is up to you... You can either push yourselves to learn more instead of parroting the same tired "Rome bad) rhetoric from the Echo Chambers that is Protestantism, or just be a living meme (last image)...
Okay, I agree with you 100%.
The ONLY thing I think we (Catholics) need to do when we are posting videos or pics of our Churches is change our words...
Stop saying, "Catholicism is beautiful" (This is obvious).
Start saying, "Catholicism GIVES FULL GLORY TO GOD!" 😉
We make this change and then we can watch Protbot heads explode!🤪
@grok states:
Frontier Airlines Flight 3345 from San Juan to Chicago diverted to Miami after 51-year-old passenger Juan Gabriel Reyes allegedly tried to open an emergency exit mid-flight, shoved the cockpit door, and choked an off-duty attendant.
Jiu-Jitsu instructor and former MMA fighter Josh Longood, seated nearby, led passengers in physically restraining Reyes using flex ties and seatbelts, maintaining composure as shown in the video.
The incident highlights how trained civilians can intervene effectively during airborne disruptions, allowing the plane to land safely with no serious injuries reported.
"WE are failing to catechize our children and help them see the mission of the Church they are being brought into.
If we acknowledge we are the problem, then we can start to fix it."
You are 100% correct! As a Catechist, I witness it all the time.
Want to know how to fix it? Get the parents involved in ministries and their kids will follow at a young age. Keep them engaged at the parish!
Here is the pattern that can be recognized:
1. Parents get child baptized but have been away from Catholic Church since they got married. (My wife and I are guilty here.)
2. They have other children and get them baptized but still not coming to Church regularly. (Was guilty here too.)
3. 1st child ready for FHC... Oh, diocese rule that child must be in Faith Formation for one year and then get FHC in the 2nd year. (Great change from the past CCD classes.)
4. Go through 2 years of Faith Formation and get the FHC for 1st child. Then fall away until 8th or 9th grade time for Confirmation.
5. Have other children go through FHC process in steps 3 and 4...
6. 1st child comes for Confirmation, but required to have 1 year of Faith Formation first and 2nd year will be Confirmation.
7. Confirmation completed and child leaves.
8. Years later they return to get married because grandparents want to see them get married in the Church.
THAT is the cycle that needs to be broken! How? INSPIRE the parents and the children! We have lost the Michelangelo's of the world. We have lost those inspired so much that they want to give glory to God!
We don't need to scare people with Doom of perishing souls. No! We need to inspire them to KNOW the fullness of what God has done!
@EndWokeness Honest rhetorical question...
Is there still systemic racism and people holding black people back somehow?
Do they still have any "room" to complain about being mistreated or living an "unfair" life when they can afford to take expensive flights?
Just sayin...
@BreeSolstad,
I get where you are coming from, but being honest, speaking out against pure joy displayed by Clergy or nuns is a sign of demons speaking through you.
Imagine if this was Mother Mary, Jesus, Apostles, or any of the Saints just having fun, would you still say the same thing?
