On Friday our Tigers and Cubs went on a trip to Banham Zoo with our friends from @HicklingInfants and @InfantSutton . We had an amazing day seeing lots of animals, having a picnic lunch together, a train ride and playing on the big playground!
Panthers have been looking at different materials and techniques that we can use in painting to help achieve specific marks in watercolour paint. Our final piece will be based on the five paintbrushes by artist Jim Dine.
Tigers and Cubs have been reading The Extraordinary Gardener and learning all about plants and what they need to grow. It inspired us to plant our own sunflower seeds and create a collage flower!
We would like to say a massive thank you to the Catfield Action Team who came in over the holidays and did an amazing job with our peaceful area. Our children were super excited to go and explore on their return to school today and cannot wait to see the plants bloom. Thank you!
We had a wonderful morning making Easter Bonnets with friends and families followed by a parade to show them off! I think you will agree, they look absolutely fantastic. Well done everyone!
Our Tigers and Cubs had a fantastic time at @GressenhallFW on Friday with Sutton and Hickling EYFS. We enjoyed lots of activities based on different fairy tales. We loved it!
Panthers have enjoyed learning about Forces, including air resistance and water resistance, this half term. Children designed their own experiments to explore the effects of water resistance and found out that surface area was directly linked to the speed of the object sinking.
Last week Tigers and Cubs learnt all about Antarctica and the animals that live in cold places. They used their fine motor skills to create their own penguins!
We all had a fabulous time at Norwich Theatre Royal Panto yesterday with @HicklingInfants and @InfantSutton . Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we had some children who were super lucky that they got to go on stage! @NorwichTheatre
Our EYFS children have been busy making Christmas cards and this afternoon we went out to deliver them to our community. We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all of us at Catfield Academy π
Lions and Tigers & Cubs had great fun performing in their 'Wriggly Nativity'. Thank you to all the grown ups who came to watch, the children really enjoyed themselves and they were fantastic!

Last Thursday, we were visited by Salvation Army officer Harry. He taught us how the Salvation Army supports vulnerable groups in society. He even let us wear his hat and blow his baritone!
