@sbrackenborough I was so pleased! I'm forever looking out for them. It was very misty, but the glint of the blue was so stunning as it flew right across!

Happily I saw my first kingfisher this morning at Kiln Pond at Englefield Estate. It flew across the water, landed on a branch on the other side then proceeded to dive into the water. Too far away to capture on camera, just engraved in my memory!

A beautiful kingfisher to start the day! ❄️

Kingfishers will hold their territories throughout winter but if the weather becomes very harsh they will migrate towards coastal areas!
