Cancer cells have such a hunger for iron that it's been termed an "iron addiction".

Transferrin is the protein that transports iron for delivery to cells.

Cancer cells have massively more transferrin receptors than normal cells, in some cases 100x more or even greater. This is illustrated in the images below.

The amount of iron carried by transferrin varies - that's the significance of the common lab test transferrin saturation. It has low saturation in iron-poor conditions, and high saturation in iron-loaded conditions.

You can decrease the saturation - the most efficient way is by donating blood.

This means that cancer cells, even with their many transferrin receptors, have more difficulty getting enough iron to grow.

A randomized controlled trial has already demonstrated that phlebotomy (bloodletting, equivalent to blood donation) lowers cancer incidence (35% over 4.5 years) and cancer mortality by 60%.

Iron is an underrated factor in aging, as well as an underrated factor in cancer.

Henry Nowak — a student on a night out in Southampton — was stabbed multiple times with a 21cm knife.

As he lay in a pool of his own blood, police arrested him following an accusation of “racial abuse”.

He told officers that he had been stabbed and could not breathe. When Nowak repeated that he had been stabbed, it is reported that a male voice replied: “I don’t think you have, mate”.

Let that sink in. A man is arrested while bleeding out because of an allegation that he may have said something racist.

This is a harrowing example of the mess the police are in. They seem more concerned about the words people say than the fact that a man had just been brutally stabbed.

Reform MP @RobertJenrick has called for a debate on two-tier policing, warning that it is undermining respect for the police and the rule of law in this country.

If you've followed this account for a while, you'll know that when surveying the UK political landscape I reserve my deepest contempt for the Conservative Party.

You might wonder why that is. After all I'm a small c conservative. Patriotic, keen on the nation state, understanding the importance of law and order and strong armed forces ready to defend our nation. A fan of low taxes, low public spending and a balanced budget. On benefits, giving a hand up for people when they need it, not a handout. Keen to encourage the private sector and especially small businesses. Suspicious of state bureaucracy. Happy with a small amount of selective immigration of people who will add something to our society, not detract from it.

The problem is, the Conservative Party isn't any of these things any more.

You might say: "Ah, but the Labour Party are even worse". And they are. But I don't expect anything better from them. I expect better from the Conservative Party - because I am a conservative, and expect them to be too.

When Margaret Thatcher was in power, I was young and foolish and had all sorts of kind, but naive, liberal ideas. Decades have passed, and I have been cured of most of those, as a result of experiencing the world as it is rather than as I might like it to be. But just at the moment in time when I was ready to vote for a small c conservative party, the Conservative Party sailed past me in the opposite direction, en route to a kind of lily-livered, globalist, unpatriotic social democracy little different from the Blairite Labour Party.

Not only that but I've watched the Conservative Party for 14 years break its promises over cutting immigration, seen it doing its best to obstruct Brexit, seen it do nothing to reverse the worst mistakes of the Blair government and its march of cultural Marxists through our institutions, watch it increase the tax burden on us, deplete our armed forces (while at the same time getting us embroiled in wars which didn't concern us), fail to deliver energy security, and get us involved in all sorts of liberal virtue signalling about the climate and overseas aid. Practically the only thing I can think of that they did well is the school reforms they introduced, but even those were somewhat scuppered by shutting schools in 2020 to hide from a virus which wasn't even a deadly threat to most adults, never mind children.

So, when it comes to politics, I reserve my deepest hatred and vitriol for the Conservative Party. For 14 years of betrayal and broken promises. For failing to be the centre right party that Britain needed. For persuading Nigel Farage to stand down Brexit Party candidates in 2019 and then delivering a half-arsed Brexit, and an enormous wave of low skills immigration as a punishment for Brexit.

I'll be happy if the Labour Party withers and dies in the next few years, but I'll be absolutely over the moon if the Conservative Party dies - because they betrayed me and so many people who voted for them - and the death of the party will mean that can never happen again.

Nigeria alone will hit 400 million by 2050. Congo, Sudan, Somalia, Eritrea vast territories, immense resources, yet perpetual chaos, tribal slaughter, corruption, and fertility rates that mock any notion of sustainability.

Their young men aren’t “fleeing” because there’s literally nowhere else on their gigantic continent; they’re coming here because Europe’s idiot elites turned welfare magnets into beacons for the world’s surplus population.

England is not “nowhere else to go.” It is the only homeland our people have ever known.

A finite island forged by the English, for the English.

the descendants of those who tamed it, defended it, and built the greatest civilisation this planet has seen.

We are already 67 million strong on these crowded shores, with native birth rates suppressed and our cities groaning under the weight of parallel societies, knife crime, grooming gangs, and collapsing services.

Every additional boatload whether Pakistani, Nigerian, Somali, or Afghan whatever Tom dick and Harry, isn’t enrichment. It’s dilution. It’s dispossession.

The intellectual reality, delivered without the usual cowardly euphemisms: this cannot work.

It has never worked.

You do not transplant tens of millions from low-trust, low-IQ, high-fertility, clan-based, often cousin-marrying cultures, many steeped in the supremacist ideology of Islam or worse into a high-trust, high-investment, native European society and expect harmony.

You get what we already see in Newham, Tower Hamlets, Bradford, and Birmingham: electoral capture by foreign blocs, no-go areas, skyrocketing welfare dependency, and native English families priced out or driven out.

Europe’s strange death, accelerated by a pathological altruism that mistakes weakness for virtue.

We owe these people nothing.

The natives of these isles built this country. We paid for it. We died for it. It belongs to us.

Remigration on a serious, unapologetic scale is not “far-right extremism.” It is basic arithmetic and national survival.

Prioritise the English people in their own homeland.

Africa has space.

The Middle East has space.

Pakistan has space.

Let them fix their own failures instead of exporting them to the one place that still works, for now.

England is our only home.
Tiny, precious, irreplaceable.

We’ve had enough of pretending otherwise.

The hordes keep coming only because traitorous elites allow it.

Time to reclaim our birthright, and ensure that this sceptred isle remains English.

Anything less is national suicide sold as kindness.

@markkaplan20 Mark I don't disagree with your central thesis but think the histogram is a little deceptive bacause it reflects TOTAL numbers at each LDL level and high/low values have lower prior probabilities in any population (i.e. you would get a bell curve if the y-axis was 'frequency')

@SamaHoole @ProfTimNoakes Don't disagree in general though the gorilla's colon is about the same length as a human (~1.4m). However its total intestinal tract is about 10% longer (~10m) and it is much more capacious overall.
