@TheEMboardround Didn’t do it so no personal experience but wish I had looked into it. You’ve got so much clinical experience, you can definitely afford to have a job that’s non-clinical in foundation. If you enjoy it, it will be a good stepping stone to future academia, if you don’t nothing lost
Does anyone have contact details for a rural generalist in New Zealand who would be willing to take an elective medical student next summer?
I’m asking around and prettymuch all of the urban hospitals do their electives via med schools who require £700 ish admin fees…
This is such a beautiful articulation and defense of the EM doc from a Geriatrician.
The burnout data speaks for itself. Atleast on shift, no other speciality is working as hard as regularly. Be it day (except GPs) or nights. It's relentless. And often it verges on dangerous.
Come and join us for a year @OUHospitals as a #periop fellow! As a previous fellow I promise that it’s an amazing opportunity, incredibly well supported and really fun! Applicants from any allied specialty considered (not just #geriatricmedicine)! https://t.co/VDkR57sJfZ

@AskPayPal@DevWriterBiggs@AskPayPal I am having same issue in UK. Not receiving authentication code via SMS. Never had this issue before and receiving SMS from others.
Not often a paper really
Stuns me but I’d not considered type 2 MIs etc perioperatively very significant (and routine trops a bit silly) but look at the differences in death and MACE at just one year!
@charlotte_tjh@celiagregson @Dr_Boabrahamsen All of our fragility fractures get 40000 units oral colecalciferol, once weekly for 7 weeks, regardless of site of fracture. If vit D levels ~40s then we try and recheck whilst IP, if discharge delayed waiting for care / rehab bed etc. Not heard of anywhere giving IM.
Join our fab Geriatric Dept at OUH. Leadership job is live. 60% clinical, 40% non clinical for management, teaching, research or QI projects depending where your interest lies. Really lovely supportive bosses and wonderful colleagues in an expanding dept.

Does anyone have experience of developing or participating in an IMG induction process in a UK hospital? Would be useful to hear experiences 🙏🏼 Please share!
