@carolvorders@TheInvisibleVe1 So many borrowers suffering the consequences of the 2008 crash as forgotten victims and with affordability changes can't switch. Government say it's "too complex" and have done little to nothing
Life is INTOLERABLE for MORTGAGE PRISONERS.
Trapped on 9%+ mortgages, getting screwed by the SHARKS month after month. NO MONEY for food, can’t afford HEATING in Winter, NO HOLIDAYS for US.
WHEN will
@GovernmentUK
ACT to HELP US?
@griffitha@hmtreasury@carolvorders@TheFCA
Add to that 200k #mortgageprisoners who've been going through this since 2008.
We were not sub prime as govt & media like to claim. Most were not in arrears, had not over borrowed. We trusted reputable mortgage companies.
We are victims of high level financial mismanagement.
@leaky74@RachelReevesMP Gotta agree, Chris. The Conservatives are a bunch of thieving T@#ts. However, the lack of engagement from Labour on our little scandal reminds them that the mortgage prisoner scandal started on THERE watch due to the financial crash in 2008. If they are serious, engage with us?
The Tory mortgage bombshell is causing huge harm to families.
Now they risk a snowball effect, with buy-to-let properties excluded from the mortgage charter.
Labour would make sure all mortgages holders are protected - including buy-to-let. https://t.co/CRbdgzrEkS
@LouisHenwood@ThelmaMcNamara3 You've done the damage with #ukmortgageprisoners children who are going through university now , they will NEVER EVER vote @Conservatives because of @JohnGlenUK & the gang. They would rather fund themselves through degrees in other countries. YOU have broken their generation
@TheFCA What if your ‘lender’ isn’t really a lender, they just bought your #mortgage as part of a deal that the gov profited by £2.4bn on? What if they then use ACTIVE mortgage market trends in setting an inflated SVR for each of their many trading names? Profiteering? #mortgageprisoners
When they SOLD our mortgages to the Vulture Funds, @hmtreasury lawyers “forgot” to include the protection clause for MORTGAGE PRISONERS.
How on earth could this happen? 🧐
Hard to believe Govt lawyers could make such a basic mistake
Perhaps it was deliberate?
@mortgageprison
@carolvorders I would never have thought that myself up until a few years ago. When an alleged elected government decided to abandon over 200,000 mortgage holders to a bunch of vulture capatailists, just that they could make a 2.4 billion profit. Money before people. Abborant.
@griffitha I can’t get the image of you putting your head down and not making any eye contact with @mortgageprison in the gallery during the debate. Was this ur moral compass? Did you know how wrong it was? But don’t know what to do about it without admitting to the next scandal
@MartinSLewis@Jeremy_Hunt@itvMLshow Why is nothing being done to protect @mortgageprison
My rate is well over 9% interest only & being paying well over the odds for yrs to these vulture funds. Utter scandal. Only help is SMI which is only a grant at 2.65%. My son & I will be homeless by Christmas. Act now please.
@MartinSLewis@Jeremy_Hunt@itvMLshow Are you going to do something about #mortgageprisoners who have been affected since 2008 with exuberant costs when Northern Rock went bankrupt & government sold for £2.4 billion profit to inactive lenders who have profiteered masquerading as mortgage companies?
@Peston@FT Sir mortgage prisoners would love to pay 5.6% on their mortgages, try paying over 9% ,please can you give some air time on your program to raise this issue with the treasury etc as they constantly refuse to help these innocent people, how would you like to pay 9% mortgage rates
