First, if you’re here to just accuse my comments of “running cover” or accuse me of lacking integrity for defending a friend, pound sand.

Similar to what Classical Theist said, I do disagree with Nick here and think this segment could’ve been put much much better. But considering that Nick has been what I would consider to be a loyal friend to me and I’ve witnessed his piety firsthand, I don’t think he intended to insult devotions or any element of the Catholic life. Nick’s frustration with some Catholics was borne out of the very difficult early days of America First, where some Catholics like the tweet posted below ⬇️ would insult him and use their outward expressions of piety as stones to be thrown at him if he didn’t express what they considered to be a perfect knowledge of Catholic culture they found to be sufficient. This would result in them making unjust accusations and even wishing harm upon Nick despite him regularly defending Christ and His Church on his show, much to the anger of some dissident right groups. I can sympathize with enduring this kind of malicious treatment. I had so-called Catholic “brothers” accuse me of getting myself deliberately cancelled to make money or repeat the disgusting lie that I was unemployed since January. This treatment made me quite bitter considering I had people wanting to kill me, so I could only imagine how Nick felt being treated 100 times worse than anything I went through. In light of this clip, I would love to invite Nick, myself, as well as all of you to discover the vibrancy and beauty of exploring the Catholic devotional life, so that we may experience the beauty that only Christ can give. Devotions hold untold riches of grace that profoundly transform our lives, and I would love for all of my friends to experience this deep love that God wants to give them.
