Much has been said about the priest shortage over the years.
But there’s an issue more pressing: the shortage of lay apostles.
The Church needs to give lay people practical tools to evangelize.
Catholics keep saying, “But the thief on the cross is a saint.”
That’s exactly my point.
The thief had no baptismal ceremony, no Eucharist, no confession booth, no penance, no lifetime of Catholic works, no rosary, no Mass attendance, no chance to “cooperate with sacramental grace” until death.
He had Christ.
He looked to Jesus in faith and Jesus said, “Today you will be with me in Paradise.”
So my point wasn’t that Rome officially denies the thief is saved. My point is that the thief exposes the problem with Rome’s system. If the modern Catholic requirements are applied consistently, the thief does not fit the system.
But he fits the gospel perfectly:
A guilty sinner saved by grace through faith in Christ.
Hope this helps Catholics outraged by my post.
Pray for my friend Chris. I met him about 15 years ago (jeeze) when he was a seminarian.
One of the most intelligent guys I know.
(He was in seminary discerned out and is now entering religious life)
Christopher, a social media influencer and cancer survivor with more than 150,000 Instagram followers, has announced that he is leaving his career to pursue a vocation to the Catholic priesthood.
@catholicpat You literally just un-did Catcism. You admit He would have been baptized, yet was prevented by circumstances-thus he needed forgiveness. so, you admit it is sin in spite of ability! this is the essence of Justification by faith/FAITH, the gift of God. RCC cant be consistent.
Let's accept climate change for the sake of argument
You have 2 options:
1) Sit around and wait for the EU or the UN or whatever to lower global temperatures for you
2) Spend $250
I forget who said this, but to understand the European mind, you must remember these are the descendants of people who heard about a whole new continent and said, "Nah I'm good."
@FlyingKulau None of the early canonizations had those requirements.
Not sure how his canonization was unbiblical, Christ Himself said he would be in heaven
According to the Roman Catholic Church dogmas, the thief on the cross next to Jesus would be in hell.
That’s how I know RCC is teaching false doctrine.
Last week a traveler flying through Indianapolis International Airport attempted to take two live smoke grenades, one of which was concealed inside of a jar of peanut butter. TSA quickly detected and removed the smoke grenades from the traveler's checked bag.
