@TeaDaDeveloper@Apokalyptos_ @Oluwadaniel_0 Well explain John 1:18 where it states Jesus saw the father… Or John 1 altogether. Arianism was destroyed 1700 years ago at Nicea.. keep on coming up with your weak arguments.
@Toms1776@realmikolson We are the Catholic Church, or Orthodox. Same thing. Catholic has just been associated in the west more with the Roman Church because they’re more prominent in the West.
@Toms1776@realmikolson This is a common misunderstanding. Catholic Just means universal. There was one Church called the Catholic church until the split in 1054. The Orthodox church is the Catholic church. The papacy(Roman catholic Church) has gone beyond what the early Church taught, and scripture.
@Toms1776@realmikolson I can because we can trace our Bishops back to the apostles. Christ Church is an extension of him. The Church is his body, and cannot be split 1000 different ways that contradict each other. There is only one Church.
“One Lord, one faith, one baptism…” - Ephesians 4:5
@Toms1776@realmikolson Early Christians met in homes… But that’s because they didn’t have church buildings yet (and were often persecuted), not because they thought organized worship was unnecessary.
Acts 2:42 describes liturgical worship, not casual hangouts for example. It’s a false either or.
@Toms1776@realmikolson let me ask you this. Provide for me an epistemic justification for the Canon of scripture, and why you accept that canon? ( Recall it’s the Church you deny that canonized the bible).
@Toms1776@realmikolson From my standing I would say what you’re promoting is heresy. Even if I wouldn’t call you a heretic because you clearly aren’t doing this knowingly.
@Toms1776@realmikolson That verse already assumes a Church. No where in scripture emphasis on Acts do you see private worship without the Church. Nor in early Christian history.
@Toms1776@realmikolson Men fail, the Church still stands. Scripture teaches us this from
the OT. King David with Bathsheba, King solomon with his Pagan concubines etc. Jesus left us with a Physical Church, when he sent the Holy Spirit to breath on the apostles at Pentecost.
@Toms1776@realmikolson It’s the gathering of those in his Church. Not just a random 2-3 people. How many private worshipers did you read about in the book of Acts? Christian worship has always been communal corporate worship.
@Toms1776@realmikolson Reading the bible should come as a supplement to partaking in the Body of Christ (Holy Catholic Apostolic Church). Christ left us with a Church not a bible. The issue with having your own private interpretation, is that it leads to a lot of err.
@Toms1776@realmikolson I would advise looking up the term “Prelest.” I also trust the Holy Spirit, because he works through the church, as Scripture states (John 16:13), rather than making myself the final authority.
@Toms1776@realmikolson You rely on your own personal interpretation which actually goes against scripture (2 Peter 1:20–21). We have 2000 years of Church history, and apostolic teaching.
