A huge thank you to everyone who donated to our harvest festival collection for Brixham food bank. It certainly will help to make a difference to some families ❤️

@LindsayCarr0ll @keziah70 @thirdspacetweet I have two schools that signed up for this. Unfortunately our own diagnostics shows the children have not progressed anymore than they should have. The tutors follow scripts and don’t deviate. They teach procedural methods and the mastery we are trying to achieve isn’t there.
@keziah70 @PieCorbett We signed up to a maths and an English program. Whilst both did an initial diagnostic they’ve followed scripts and progress has not accelerated. It’s too impersonal. Money is better spent on directly increasing capacity within schools but this doesn’t come under the funding remit
Today, on #VocationsSunday we give thanks for all those who work in Catholic schools. Thank you in particular for your phenomenal work over the past year. Share this post with the teachers and other school staff that you know to say 'thank you' today.
This is so useful, and perfect for helping us all to have a good understanding, as we support our reluctant and anxious pupils to settle back into school. Thank you.
The Requiem Mass of Deacon Joe Owen was held today in church. What a beautiful, dignified service led by Bishop Mark. Joe has faithfully served the Sacred Heart community for many years and will be greatly missed. Rest in peace. #togetheragain

If kids are reading for pleasure, they don't need to catch up... THEY'RE ALREADY AHEAD! Reading for pleasure has the biggest positive impact of any factor on children's life chances. So please: encourage them to read books they really want to read, and #literacy will follow!
Today is Ash Wednesday. The beginning of the forty days Lent. Lent is a time when we pray, do kind things for other people, give up things and give to others, as we prepare to celebrate the great feast of Easter. #AshWednesday@PlymouthCAST@PlymouthDiocese
