The 9 Company Irish Guards don their scarlet tunics a few weeks early for the annual ceremonial inspection ahead of summer ceremonial events.
The Princess of Wales is their Royal Colonel.
The inspection is taking place next door to Buckingham Palace at Wellington Barracks.
As thousands of Catholics sing Ave Maria in unison, it becomes a stirring and heartfelt expression of devotion, enveloping the space in a spirit of unity and solemnity.
I was molested, sodomized, and physically beaten hundreds of times over at least a 10 year period during my childhood. Statistically, psychologists say that I should've been a sexual predator, a wife beater, a drug addict, a homosexual, an alcoholic, or a serial killer. I should have been a cutter or suicidal.
I've never been any of those things.
Why?
Because I made the choice to give my heart, my wounds, my scars, my fears, my mind, and my life to Jesus Christ at a very early age. He alone saved me from what I could've become. I trusted God's Word and believed in Him and He is my Savior!
I'm human and I have everyday struggles just like everybody else. I'm definitely not perfect. But Christ is my anchor, my strength, and my lighthouse in life's many storms. I'm a huge honkin' sinner, but because of what Jesus did for us on that cross, I am saved by grace through faith!
Jesus took my burdens and gave me rest. He took my fears and He gave me peace. He took my brokenness, and He made me whole!
Thank you Jesus!
A beautiful #AshWednesday story from Msgr. James Shea:
"A couple of years ago, I was on a flight on Ash Wednesday, and the stewardess came back to me and knelt down in the aisle where I was sitting, and she began to cry.
She said, 'I wasn't able to go to mass today on Ash Wednesday because I'm working morning till night, Father. Would you happen to have any ashes?' I couldn't believe it.
I had a little vial of ashes in the overhead compartment up on top, and I'm not like Father Boy Scout, I'm not usually prepared in that way, but I had some ashes, and so I said yes, I do, and I took them down, and I imposed ashes upon her while she knelt there.
By the end of the flight, the two other stewardesses, one of the pilots, and more than half of the plane had followed her and had knelt down in the aisle to receive ashes. This is the hope with which we live, and it's latent in people, it only needs to be activated by our witness."
A priest in Notting Hill is blessing people this Ash Wednesday.
I’m not religious myself, but it’s heartwarming to see this and see how positively people are responding ✝️
Let’s embrace Lent with heart body and mind. Let’s see this holy season as a fresh understanding that each of us contains the divisions of the world, while Jesus Christ contains its only solution.
Hard to believe what Saudi Crown Prince MBS is saying!
“Allah did not put a barrier between himself and people. He revealed the Quran, Prophet implemented it.
“Quran is always open to interpretation.
“There are no fixed schools of thought, no infallible person.
“All fatwas should be based on time, place, and mindset.”
May MBS live long and well. #Ramadan
My petition to start an inquiry into grooming gangs was rejected because someone beat me to it. The good news is a petition is up and running so lets get signing.
