@TheFawcette It was only a $10.000 fine. For a billionaire, it's essentially the same as if I got fined 10 Canadian cents (0.07 USD). If that's the price, I'd throw in another dime for the pleasure of cracking a joke: I'll just skip the day's coffee to break even (=25 jokes).
@OlegNikolenko_ Meeting Russian allies like China and
India is by itself immoral regardless of context. Just because diplomats have sacrificed human decency for personal interests since the dawn of mankind, does not make their acts unforgivable to anyone with any humanity
For comparison, the earthquake in Morocco killed as many people as Russians kill in #Ukraine in an average week and they have been killing for 80 weeks! That's 80 earthquakes worth of death toll every week since February 2022 at the hands of Russians.
I am in favor of France & Germany leaving the EU for one simple & sufficient reason: democracies are corrupted by relationships with undemocratic nations. A democratic Europe can only be built by excluding the European dictatorships. Until it does so, Europe can't be democratic.
Fridge #innumeracy, or the ability to fool people by changing shapes to hide a 12% increase in price!
Your modern sleek tall fridge probably packs a good 10% less space than the old designs. It's elementary math which I learned before I was 14.
But compared to the old chunky 30x27x64 = 51840 it only has 89% of its volume. How do you like a 12% inflation (that's the mathematical equivalent of an 11% reduction, with some rounding)?
I thought it inspirational that Alan Shepard walked on the moon at age 47 when I was young. I seem to be trapped too, but in the wrong universe in my case

@StartsWithABang The lab leak question is irrelevant, but the theory serves China's interests beautifully. It can never be proven & is entirely irrelevant to the question of moral guilt with regard to failed confinement. UFO: Yeah sure, they can cover that but fail at simpler tasks.
#Kirby is effectively saying that nuclear powers can have their way. I hope many countries will finally get the message. Many Ukrainians would be alive today if their government had enough nukes to wipe out mankind. A nuclear race is a matter of survival. https://t.co/CX1Ijn8E4X
@PeterZeihan Clearly. It's also clear that the West will continue doing nothing at all. The Russian Oligarchs will be VIPs in Berlin and Paris even long after they attacked the Baltics & Poland & destroyed all of Ukraine.
@jensstoltenberg Maybe a first sanction could be enacted? Limiting Russians to no more than owning 24 luxury mansions in the West and 364 tax-free days/year among us? I am sure that would break them. I'd rebuild the wall to keep them out, but that's being an idealist.
China/Russia will stop at nothing & this gives them a massive advantage. Ukraine can't effectively defend itself with all the shackles from the West & we are yet to enact the first real sanctions.
We have effectively abandoned #Ukraine & ourselves.

@general_ben He has seen that there won't be any sanctions or consequences if you side with war criminals while he can reap some gains from China and Russia, so it's a rational no-risk strategy, I guess.
If #Turkey can be a bridge between #NATO and Russia. This means they are not in NATO, right? Let's make this official @jensstoltenberg
Anyone not fighting #WarCrimes is endorsing them!
