Look at these amazing artworks made by the young carers of @MileCross and @CattonGrove Primary schools!
The holiday trip to art studios was organised by the #phoenixcentremx's Mile Cross Care Free project - if you want info about future trips, email [email protected]
@CattonGrove It was an absolute pleasure to speak to you all on zoom and to see the wonderful artwork that had been created and listen to the beautiful poetry. I hope everyone enjoyed #WorldBookDay πβ¨
After a brilliant day exploring our whole school picture book focus, Out of the Blue, we were lucky enough to be joined by @bobtregoning for a whole school Zoom. Robert read to us, we asked him lots of questions and shared work with him that we'd done throughout the day. Perfect!
The highlight of our day was handing out 23 copies of @bobtregoning and @StefMurphyArt's 'Out of the Blue' book to each of our teachers. Ready for our whole school picture book focus on World Book Day. Thanks to @Bookbugsdragon1 for sourcing; they are of great beauty! πππ
The loveliest day at the loveliest school! Huge thank yous to @CattonGrove and @mls_library and 700 curious children who came up with some of the best impossible questions I've ever heard!
We had THE best day with @isabelwriting - inspiring the whole school from Nursery to Year 6 in all things science and writing non-fiction.
Thank you so much also to @mls_library for making it happen and joining us for the day.
Stay curious! β€π¦π
After loving Vlad and the Great Fire of London, Year 2 were visited by Boxton who needed our help to send a letter to his fictional wife, Roxy. We are so proud of their efforts to convey what Boxton saw, his emotions and what to do next. Thanks for the inspiration @reading_riddle
A massive thank you to the brilliant @RachelDelahaye for 'Zooming' our Y4s yesterday. They have absolutely loved studying Mort the Meek and were beyond excited to get incredible insights into life as an author, her inspirations and future books soon to be released! πππ«
This is just amazing!
@Rob7Burrow will be reading Tilda Tries Again on the CBeebies Bedtime Story with the aid of eye-tracking computer equipment. His reading is a powerful indicator of what can be achieved when you have the resolve, and I want to say a HUGE thanks to Rob.
We have four very excited children off to @Bookbugsdragon1 DARA awards night tonight to join their review team and choose up to Β£50 worth of free books to take home and keep. Incredible! Thank you to everyone involved in making the magic happen! πππ«
We are sad to hear about the passing of Marcus Sedgwick. His personal and passionate interactions with our Y6s during our lockdown reading unit on Floodland was a real highlight of a tough time! πππ«
A huge thank you to @marcussedgwick for his interaction and personal message to our Year 6s this week. Here are a few book review snippets from our Year 6s after finishing Floodland this week:
@reading_riddle Hello! Our Year 2s will be reading and studying your book, Vlad, next week. We will be exploring lots of the amazing vocabulary you use to describe the Great Fire of London which links with the work we've been doing as historians this term ππ₯π«
A massive thank you to Leanne from @Bookbugsdragon1 for launching our DT project this afternoon. We are making books with sliders and levers; we explored a range of books & found out what she looks for when buying! We can't wait to display our final products in the shop! πππ«
@reading_riddle Hello @reading_riddle from Year 2! We loved reading Vlad and The Great Fire of London! We have a couple of quick questions for you if you don't mind. Sean would like to know why you called the flea, Vlad? Poppy would like to know what inspired you to write this story? πππ
