She stood there, trembling in fear. It was her first time and all she could think about was the blood that would come after.

Could she do it right? How could she avoid the guilt that would come after?

Knife in her hand, looking at her pitiful victim. Could she do it?

Could she actually plunge a knife into a helpless being? An involuntary gasp escaped her mouth, and she nearly dropped the weapon.

“It’s ok” said Dylan, as he placed his hand over hers. Waves of relief swept over her as she heard his soothing voice. Dylan was a seasoned killer. Wanted, dead or alive in 14 States of the USA, he had left countless bodies in his wake and if there was anyone who could help her navigate this path, it was him.

“It’s your first time. Don’t worry, I’ll show you what to do”. Taking the knife from her, he crouched and using its knifepoint, he proceeded to instruct.

“Aim for the neck. One quick slash, and you’re done” as he touched the neck of the victim. “You were about to stab the chest-area. That’s a no-no. The blade can get caught between the ribs and break in the struggle to free it. Always go for the neck”

Taking the knife back from him, she steeled herself for the moment.

Two quick strides, one slash later, the deed was done. Blood pooled from her trashing victim as its life slowly ebbed away.

The whistling from the kettle startled her. The water had reached boiling point.

Now for the hard work.

Separating the feathers from the chicken she had just killed.
