Not correct. The value of the cores was not set at manufacture time. The cores would have their values set either to a 1 or a 0 by simply applying 5V to the x and y wires simultaneously and the little core rings would be magnetized in that state forever or until it it received an opposite value - zero. This "half select" method of reading and writing little magnetic cores was invented by Dr. Wang of MIT who founded his own computer company in the 1970's -- Wang Electronic or Computers.
The post is somewhat misleading because the total bite PSI value = total force divided by the area of all the tooths' sharp edges which are in contact with the measurement surface. So a killer whale with needle like teeth is going to have an exaggerated PSI value compared to mammals with lots of dull teeth like molars.
