'I am very grateful to be here, to be safe with my family, and to have new opportunities for the future.' @jaketapper reconnects with former Afghan interpreter Mohammad Iqbal Selanee, who fled the 2021 Taliban takeover and resettled in the US.
The @SeattleStorm Dance Troupe has been a youth program for over a decade. Kids performing at every home game. Praised by players. Outperformed adult pro dance squads.
The Storm just moved tryouts to 18+ only.
Other WNBA teams are investing in youth dance programs. The Storm is eliminating theirs.

Proud of Iqbal for this. Thank you Wes for putting this together. Critically important to protect these guys and their families for the sacrifices made to our great country, The United States of America.

Part of my service was making sure evil never succeeds in destroying our democracy and that includes protecting free speech. If someone chooses to comment, that’s their right. I fought for that.
Tomorrow morning, I’ll wake up and bring my son his milk bottle. I’ll kiss my daughter and my wife. I’ll look at my bracelet with the names of the four brothers who didn’t come home on August 8, 2012, and thank them for their sacrifice.
I’ll appreciate the fact that I’m still breathing. And I’ll keep loving this country with everything I have. 🇺🇸

@LauraLoomer Oh boy… Thirteen years ago today is my Alive Day, the day I nearly lost my life, and four of my brothers, including three Army leaders, never came home. I’ve served under presidents from both parties and will always honor my oath to this country. Yes, I spoke for 60 seconds at the DNC when asked about service and sacrifice, not politics. For me, 8/8 isn’t about parties. It’s about the lives we lost.
@LauraLoomer Flo has yet to complain about anything you’ve done or posted. Your post insinuates otherwise. You’re creating a false narrative…par for the course. The biggest issue everyone has with you is that you attacked an American Patriot on the worst day of his life. Apologize & move on.
@LauraLoomer 4/ If the truth stings, maybe it’s because attacking an immigrant war hero for not worshipping Trump reveals more about your character than his. You suck at life. End/
@LauraLoomer The Army Secretary “promoting” him? That’s a standard post honoring a MoH recipient’s valor on the anniversary of his Alive Day - he almost died, the military does this routinely for heroes of all backgrounds. The day he caught a stray (or targeted) RPG to the chest from you!

He jumped into hell with only a knife and an aid bag.🧵🇺🇸
On May 2, 1968, then-Staff Sgt. Roy Benavidez heard a 12-man Special Forces team was trapped in the jungle, outnumbered 100-to-1.
He fought relentlessly for six hours, losing so much blood in the process, medics thought he died by the battle's end.
In honor of his birthday, take a moment to honor him and read his remarkable story of courage and survival.
Not sure who @6Voodoo is but this is 90% accurate. Some details not included that I think critical but clearly this information came from someone on the ground. Much of this story is from my own perspective. Thanks for putting this out for Memorial Day.
Memorial Day Thread- Paying tribute to those that died is an abstract thing for many, even amongst some who served. The randomness of death in GWOT brought through IED's and rockets made it in a way impersonal. So I wanted to share the story of the men who died at Bari Alai.
