Trafford, PA (May 19, 2025) – All American Baseball is proud to announce the hiring of Charlie Spano as its new Director of Player Development. Spano brings over two decades of elite coaching experience, a proven track record of player advancement, and a passion for developing talent both on and off the field.
A Legacy of Excellence in Baseball, Spano joins All American Baseball following a distinguished 21-year tenure at Mercyhurst University, where he played a pivotal role in transforming the Lakers into a NCAA Division II baseball powerhouse. As an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, Spano helped lead Mercyhurst to 10 NCAA Regional appearances, eight PSAC-West titles, and three NCAA Division II World Series appearances. Under his guidance, 15 players were drafted by MLB organizations, with several still active in professional baseball. He coached 127 all-conference players, 50 all-region players, 16 All-Americans, and eight academic all-Americans.
In 2019, Spano was honored as the ABCA/Baseball America Division II Assistant Coach of the Year, recognizing his exceptional contributions to the sport. His expertise in infield development and baserunning has been instrumental in shaping the careers of numerous student-athletes.
A Commitment to Player Development
In his new role at All American Baseball, Spano will oversee the development of players at all levels, focusing on skill enhancement, mental toughness, and leadership. His comprehensive approach to coaching emphasizes the holistic growth of athletes, preparing them for success both on the field and in life.
“I am excited to join the All American Baseball and contribute to its mission of developing well-rounded, high-performing athletes,” said Spano. “I look forward to working with the talented players and staff here to continue fostering a culture of excellence.”
