** Miss Lucky and a couple of her friends wanted to check out TI yesterday. None of them had been and they figured the free $200 in slot play was a good excuse to go. I warned them there would be a line and the crowd probably wouldn’t be Vegas’ cream of the crop. They insisted anyway. So off we went.

It was worse than I expected. The line looped around the casino and the whole place smelled like a zoo. We bailed and had dinner across the street which made me extremely happy. I dislike TI with a passion...

If you’ve followed me for a while you know I like the term “bargain bin” casino executive. Usually that means someone new to the industry or someone whose career already fizzled. Both are cheap to hire. And mediocre casinos like TI collect them like baseball cards.

Casinos stopped doing promos like this for a reason. Every so often some genius comes along convinced everyone before him was just too stupid to figure it out. In the gaming industry it’s pretty well understood that promos like this with no play requirements etc rarely produce much ROI. Locals know how to work the system. Always have. Always will.

And anyone willing to stand in an hours+ long line for $200 probably isn’t carrying the kind of wallet that makes the math work for the house anyways. That’s not an insult. That’s just the ugly little economics of giving away money all willy nilly like this...

E então ouviu a voz de Jesus lhe dizendo:
“Serei vossa proteção hoje e sempre”.

Santa Clara então dirigiu-se à porta do convento segurando um ostensório contendo Jesus Eucarístico e disse aos invasores que Cristo era mais forte do que eles.
E em seguida, inexplicavelmente, os sarracenos foram tomados de um intenso temor e fugiram. Não apenas do convento, mas da cidade de Assis!
