“When I was young, I didn't know what was wrong with me, beyond a vague sense of unease that grew to a constant need to crawl out of my own skin as I got older”. Carrie #TDOV2022
I dunno if this kind of audience response is due to changing values in what audiences want from films, a deep ignorance of an older genre of filmmaking (when we no longer have a monoculture and unlike previous generations, GenZ don’t really consume older entertainment), or both
In fact, every criticism he makes of the film’s first half equally applies to the actual source material for both the film and WoT: the original True Grit film adaptation starring John Wayne.
The point is, releasing about an expac’s worth of content at the rate of one hour a week and then deleting it at the end of the year was both a colossal waste of money (in terms of the apparent cost of keeping the game full of playable content) and hurt player onboarding
Not trying to stir shit, as this is the obvious answer, but isn’t part of the problem that they spend money on grindy, repetitive seasonal content that was deleted once a year and felt boring to play? Thereby essentially burning money?
Great breakdown of the ending but two thoughts about evidence in favour of that being [REDACTED] at the end

2) the casual, chatty speech pattern Paul is unsure about tallies with a certain lore book from the good old days…
Same. Trying to keep it together on the plane.
