Autism exists on a spectrum, so each individual’s strengths and weaknesses can differ. When defending yourself, there’s a mature way to do so. As someone who is neurotypical, like myself and others who observed this situation, we understand that just because someone may be autistic or disabled, it doesn’t mean they should be told to leave simply because they don’t meet someone’s standards. Scotty is perfectly capable, and standing up for him doesn’t take away from that. However, Drake should have realized that his way of defending himself—with the lawyer and FBI comments—was inappropriate. The defense turned into an ongoing joke that became cruel.

While defense is often necessary, it’s the manner in which it was done here that was problematic. Given the circumstances, we expect Drake to understand and handle the situation with more maturity. It’s not about holding people to an unrealistic standard, but rather about navigating situations in a compassionate and respectful way. Empathy goes a long way in understanding how to navigate situations and conflict resolution. Simply put, walk a mile in someone else’s shoes.

Exactly, it was all for entertainment. Let me be clear: it’s not funny when we exploit what makes someone unique for our amusement. I’m hardly on here, but friends are texting me saying this is messed up so I had to come see for myself. The impact on him is completely different. He’s being told he’s getting sued and all this other stuff. How much clearer can I be about why I, and many others, feel this way? This goes way deeper than just the surface level. I’m not trying to ruin the “entertainment,” I’m here to stop a situation that’s much bigger. I can’t keep giving hints for people to understand, because it’s not my place to explain.
