Jay Z, Beyoncé and @RocNation have mastered the gimmick of using image as branding. For every Jay Z misstep, mishap and failed business venture, Queen Beyonce is there with a loving smile and unfaltering wave to fans to divert your attention.
Beyonce is Jay Z’s insurance policy. Whenever his attempt at being a self made business man fails, her affectionate gaze and willingness to mingle with upper echelon white business men and women will calm the waters. Nothing to see here people.
She will reassure black people of their God like status with her unproblematic ways, the occasional glimpse of her children and captionless IG posts. And in turn, he-Jay Z, will be her cultural muscle. For 20 years he stomped out the RnB competition-all those RnB girls know this but the fear of industry retaliation keeps them hush. But they talk amongst themselves.
Together, they have acquired this rare form of currency called cultural credit. It’s not actual money. It’s better than that, it’s the unwavering love and devotion of the black community. You might not see anything wrong with this on the surface but keep reading.
With that cultural credit, they used it too sway, influence and manipulate media eventually pulling urban black media into its orbit. Think I’m lying? When Cowboy Carter dropped you all were told that country music stations were being racist to the Beloved Queen Beyonce by not playing her music.
Y’all do realize she could have simply did a country music station press run? Or simply paid the stations like they normally do. They counted on that “being racist to Beyonce” headline to get black people riled up and guess what ya did. Country music stations were now being heavily influenced to play the music or be deemed racist. But Beyonce never said a word as she so humbly and graciously accepted that Grammy for best country album.
No legal action, no PR statements just black people dirtying their hands for your beloved Jay Z and Beyonce. Cultural credit means that whatever they do, black people will eat it up, hook line and sinker.
That outwardly pristine image of theirs has given them more opportunities than they deserved. All at the expense of other black people. Jay Z told y’all we over kneeling and it’s time for action! What are the actionable items he put in place? Other than fake streams for washed up hiphop acts, what did the culture get from the musical fraud?
He gave the culture nothing other than The foolish notion that women should be quiet like Beyonce and just smile. He created a prototype of a black woman that doesn’t exist and Beyonce willingly plays into it for the sake of a crumbling image.
Paying people to spread false news about me, purposely sabotaging my tour, taking away 100k of my sales, getting my house swatted which put my family and son in danger, botting likes and streams for people who go against me, throwing a FUNERAL for me, stealing MILLIONS from me
And yall are mad over some tweets ok😭 please pray you never have to experience evil bias and injustice the same way BLACK women have done for centuries
Didn’t she lose the public last year?
Didn’t she lose the public when she got married?
Didn’t she lose the public when she dragged Travis Scott?
Yet
Her album can’t be OUTSOLD… do the math
