@databhoys For me, McGregor was always a no. 8. In Europe, he got exposed playing as a 6 too many times, particularly in transitions. The failure to find an ideal player to replace Brown is the long term cause, and should have defended in a compact manner in the second half.
@Zonal_Marking It seems one point most people missed is that, Argentina had taken two short corners from that side before Enzo scored. Unless England deliberately allowed them to do so, otherwise that was a very poor mistake from England pov.
@SelecaoTalk It's almost irrelevant to emphasize the penalty miss and THAT miss by Endrick. Ancelotti even used all substitution time slots before the first goal, which was a very very stupid mistake.
@BrasilEdition Hey, even Iraq tried to press Norway high up the pitch and tried to build up from the back. It's ok to lose, but not in such a way when, at least on paper, Brasil had better players in most positions.
@Tim_Vickery If he wanted to maintain some possession, Igor Thiago should have been the option. But even Brasil relied on crossing against japan in the second half, he did not put Igor Thiago on. Why? And apparently, Rayan was much better than Endick when defending.
@SelecaoTalk The first sub should have been used at ht. No subs left when Norway scored. As someone who prepared for more than 1000 matches, this was a huge mistake.
@Ruxiiii4 Even Paqueta is not a top player in terms of dictating the tempo. The lack of world class deeplying playmaker from brasil in this century means it has been immensely difficult to construct an organized midfield with the selecao. Tite deserved much more credit than he got.
@BrasilEdition Looks like martinelli was the wrong choice, casemiro had to leave his position more when brasil were not in possession. And it's clear that norway could progress the ball better on their weaker right side.
The Cabo Verde is so fascinating. There are those who oppose the expansion to 48 teams for various reasons, but for people who follow the world cup as fans of the sport, these 'small' teams maybe the major reason why the world cup is such a special event!
@JesusFerna7026 I suspect one factor in east asia (not sure about its applicability on thailand) is cultural. Having children before marriage is still not acceptable in many families. When fewer people marry or marry later, birth rate declines.
@guyfawkes419@BrasilEdition If Ancelotti insists to play 4222/424, then at least four are needed. Of course, with Vinicius sometimes playing as a false nine, there are four. But four right wingers looks too many (i know people may not define Endrick as one though)
I think Neymar should be called up, provided that he accepts being a sub. Reason 1, there are too few dead ball specialists in the squad. Reason 2, when chasing a game and facing a low block defence, who else can improvise like him around zone 14?
