CDDFRS Arson Reduction and Young People Team support communities to reduce arson and deliberate fires, making County Durham and Darlington a safer place to live
On the 11th Hour,
Of the 11th Day,
Of the 11th Month,
We Will Remember Them.
Staff from all across our Service fell silent today to remember those who gave their lives in conflicts across the world. โค๏ธ

Amazing to see 298 Y7 students from @Consettacademy dial into, and engage in one of our virtual Arson Reduction and fire safety presentations this morning!! Great effort from all involved! #CDDFRS#ArsonReduction
Teesside University would like to hear how the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted on your physical activity. Further details can be found by going to https://t.co/SW93N5j0Oc. Retweeting this would be appreciated. Thank you.
Darlington Crews have come across this fly tipped domestic rubbish which is unsightly & a serious fire risk. This waste is mainly children's toys. These toys would have benefitted a disadvantaged child via a local charity Toy Bank, than thrown away. @CDDFRS
How to get rid of your household waste properly? If you pay anyone to take your rubbish, check they are registered, (see their waste carrier certificate), & check them out on https://t.co/asxVjEjVTP, because otherwise you may be paying a Fly Tipper! @CddfrsR
This is the effect of dumping bulk waste in back alleyways.
For DCC residents to dispose of your bulk waste, (if you can't take it to a recycling site yourself), go to https://t.co/7NF1Jdkb2X. Darlington residents go to https://t.co/FnUB5qAEM2. @CDDFRS
So tell me! If this were oil on a beach filled with choking, oil-covered sea birds, you'd be outraged right! So why accept this or do nothing to report it or the people who dump it? On the plus side, your local Arsonist has somewhere to find all the fuel they need! @CDDFRS
Matilda the mattress is scared! She should be with other mattresses, safe & secure at the Household Waste Recycling Centre, not alone down some back ally. She's at risk...she can hear them coming, encouraging each other to start fires. What if She is next? @CDDFRS
So, what do you see? Rubbish, fly tipping or a recycling opportunity maybe? I see fuel for an Arsonist, I see that a fire has occurred on this spot before. I see foam seat pads stacked against the fence of a family home. Report it on 101 or via https://t.co/QS1XHV5MHz @CDDFRS
This fire set in Coxhoe Park, was set deliberately. Look at the smoke & the flames! The thick, black smoke causes environmental harm & the colour of the flames indicates temperatures over 1000 degrees! At these temperatures, any burn to skin would be life changing! @CDDFRS
Woodie the Fire Dog and the Arson Reduction Team have been busy filming this week for our new education package, Safer Futures On-Line, he was fantastic! Well done Woodie. @CDDFRS#woodiethefilmstar
Our Chief Fire Officer has been talking about how to stay safe this #BonfireNight2020 on @BBCBreakfast for safety tips please visit https://t.co/xod7CQag96
Woodie has been busy this week, here he is yesterday with Lee Aspery our Fire Investigation Manager at Yohden Primary School with the Phoenix Fire Champions. Woodie was demonstrating to the children how he uses scent to help determine the causes of fire Thanks Woodie ๐ถ@CDDFRS
@CDDFRS Fire Dog Woodie taking a rest from the hard work at Service Training Centre today. Woodie is working with @ThreeMotionUK to record our new virtual 'Safer Furtures Online' which will be delivered to year 6 children across County Durham and Darlington #woodiethefiredog
Massive thank you to @CDDFRS Red Watch, Peterlee who surprised our Phoenix Fire Champions yesterday with a visit to Yohden Primary School. The children were carrying out vital research into secondary fires in their community! ๐๐ #arsonreduction#firefutures#safercommunities
SM Glen Stewart and Volunteer Instructor Graeme Major had the privilege of presenting three @CDDFRS Fire Cadets from High Handenhold Station with their Basic Emergency First Aid Certificates ๐ Well done lads ๐คฉ #firefutures๐ #ukfirecadets#youngpeople
โA deliberate fire can also put property, resources and indeed lives at risk so it goes without saying that we will always take a zero-tolerance approach to fire-setting and attacks on our crews.โ @fire_scot https://t.co/FUdxyuUPxr
