Before attending the soccer match yesterday, I spent time in my constituency assessing the progress of several development projects that we agreed upon with our communities.
I am pleased with the progress being made, including the completion of a mothers’ shelter at Makarara Clinic, the construction of a clinic at Matove in Chikomba, as well as school blocks and classroom facilities for ECD learners. These projects are improving access to essential services and creating a better future for our children and families. Zvishoma nezvishoma, tiri kuona budiriro ichisvika kuvanhu vedu.
As we continue driving development, I encouraged fellow leaders and community members to embrace a spirit of inclusivity and collaboration. We must welcome all well-wishers who are willing and able to contribute towards improving the lives of our people. Ngatirege kuvhara mikova kune vanoda kubatsira nekuda kwekutyira zvigaro zvedu. Chinokosha ibudiriro yevanhu, kwete zvido zvedu pachedu.
Development should never be hindered by personal interests, fear or politics. Our responsibility is to put people first and focus on what benefits the community.
Today State House is a scene of pride and purpose as His Excellency ,President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa arrived to officiate the Women Excellence in Sustainable Tourism and Environmental Conservation Awards .

*Harare* – The Minister of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training has called on Zimbabweans to reject unsubstantiated allegations and instead support a united, evidence-based effort to tackle drug and substance abuse among young people.
Speaking on the growing challenge of drugs, substance abuse, and drug peddling, the Minister described the crisis as “deeply painful and disturbing” because of the damage it continues to inflict on the lives, dreams, and futures of young people across communities.
“As the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, I carry the responsibility of protecting, empowering and guiding our young people with the seriousness and integrity the office demands,” the Minister said.
“As a parent, a leader and a Christian, I will never tolerate criminal behaviour or anything that threatens the well-being of our children.”
The Minister expressed concern over what he termed “reckless and false narratives being spread without evidence” on such a sensitive issue. He warned that false accusations not only damage reputations but also undermine the collective fight against the real dangers affecting youth.
“If anyone has credible evidence regarding any wrongdoing, I encourage them to come forward through the proper channels so that the law can take its course,” he said. “We cannot build our nation on rumours, hatred, malicious attacks and character assassination disguised as public concern.”
He urged citizens to prioritize responsibility, honesty, compassion, and unity over divisive accusations, reminding the public that “public opinion is not always the truth” and that words can destroy families, reputations, and lives.
“Together, we can build a stronger nation when we choose responsibility over recklessness, respect over hatred and truth over falsehood,” the Minister concluded.
The statement comes as government and civil society intensify efforts under the National Drug and Substance Abuse Response to curb the spread of drugs and expand rehabilitation and vocational opportunities for affected youth.
*President Mnangagwa Urges Youth League to Expand Empowerment Projects, Backs Centralised Party Resources at 393rd Politburo Session*
_Harare_ – President Emmerson Mnangagwa has called on ZANU PF structures to strengthen support for the Youth League as it scales up transformational empowerment projects across the country’s districts, saying the wing must remain an empowered structure free from manipulation.
Addressing the 393rd Ordinary Session of the Politburo in Harare, the President said he was “equally pleased to address a vibrant National Assembly Meeting of the Youth League.” He noted that the youth wing’s expansion of programmes was a positive sign of grassroots mobilisation and self-reliance.
“It is impressive that the youth wing is broadening transformational empowerment projects for young people across all districts,” President Mnangagwa said. “I urge Party departments to give them the requisite support so that they remain an empowered structure, that tows the correct line of the revolution, free from manipulation.”
The President stressed that financial sustainability was a collective duty, declaring that “guaranteeing financial sustainability of our Party remains every member’s responsibility.”
He also welcomed the ongoing centralisation of Party resources, stating that allocations should prioritise programmes with measurable impact. “I expect the allocation of Party resources and assets to prioritise programmes and activities that result in higher impacts, and visible outcomes,” he said.
President Mnangagwa also reaffirmed the Party’s commitment to delivery:
“Tiri Musangano unozadzisa zvinangwa zvawo. Tiri Musangano wezvinobatika. ZANU PF is a Party that delivers.”
The remarks come as the Youth League continues to roll out income-generating and skills-based initiatives aimed at reducing youth unemployment and promoting self-reliance in line with Vision 2030.
Thank you Hon , as a young person I listened to this song and what I hear is a reminder that the streets are full of “Isambane people “ ,watching , talking ,plotting and full of jealousy but we should stay grounded and keep moving ,our success will make the noise coz Legends never die
President Emmerson Mnangagwa officially opened the New Glovers Power Plant, declaring that Zimbabwe remains “open for business” while calling for greater local investment in strategic infrastructure to drive Vision 2030.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, President Mnangagwa commended pension funds and financial institutions that participated in the project, but said more must be done by local capital markets.
“More must be done by local capital markets towards the mobilisation of resources for strategic national projects that directly impact Vision 2030, and the industrialisation as well as modernisation of our country,” he said.
The President urged individuals and entities, including Zimbabweans in the diaspora, to diversify investments into key national priority projects, he cautioned against externalizing all earnings: “Kana mawana zvamawana kupinda, mumigodhi, neikoko kunze kwenyika, musadye mari yose. Ngativakei nyika yekwedu, nematunhu edu, kuti nyika ibudirire, remangwana rive raka jeka.”
President Mnangagwa also directed urban and rural local authorities to “ring fence and reserve land for the establishment of energy and technology parks,” reinforcing Government’s push for industrialization.
Reiterating the national development mantra, he said: “Taka bvumirana kuti; Nyika inovakwa, inotongwa, inonamatigwa nevene vayo / Ilizwe lakhiwa, libuswe, likhu-le-ke-lwe ngabanikazi balo.”
[A country is built, governed, and prayed for by its owners.]
He further congratulated the young Zimbabweans behind New Glovers Solar who spearheaded construction of the plant, highlighting youth participation in driving the country’s energy agenda.
The New Glovers Power Plant is expected to bolster Zimbabwe’s energy security and support the broader goal of modernizing the economy under Vision 2030.

Five Keys to Success: Minister Machakaire
Zimbabwe’s youth have been challenged to build their future on five core values if the country is to achieve Vision 2030.
Minister of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, Hon. Tino Machakaire, told young people that hard work, honesty, love, respect, and accountability are non-negotiable for prosperity in life.
“These are not empty slogans,” Machakaire stressed. “Think of them as a life compass. Any young person who lives by these five principles will go far, no matter the field.”
Machakaire emphasized that these keys create opportunities, earn trust, strengthen unity, demand responsibility, and safeguard one’s reputation.
He challenged Zimbabwean youths to practice the values daily, from lecture halls and boardrooms to homes and villages.
“Success is never just personal,” he added. “When we uphold these principles, our families grow stronger, our communities develop, and our nation moves forward.”

As a father, I believe one of the greatest responsibilities of a man is to honour and appreciate the woman who carries and nurtures the children that become part of his family. In doing so, respect for her family becomes a true reflection of one’s character, maturity and values.
As Minister of Youth, I wish to encourage our young citizens to embrace a culture of respect, dignity and restraint, particularly in moments of disagreement or personal conflict. True leadership is not demonstrated through intimidation, abuse of authority or the misuse of influence against others, especially women and the elderly.
No grievance, misunderstanding or separation should ever justify the use of power, money or office to suppress, intimidate or humiliate another family. Our children learn more from our conduct than from our words, and I want mine to inherit a legacy founded on respect, integrity, peace and humanity.
Peace begins with me. Peace begins with you. Peace begins with all of us.

Here is the clarity of the youth empowerment initiative from the ZANUPF Secretary for youth affairs Hon Machakaire
Good evening all.
I would like to clarify how this empowerment initiative was designed.
The programme was launched with USD 2 million, which was equally allocated across the country’s 10 provinces, giving each province USD 200,000.
We agreed that this fund could not simply be shared among individuals, but had to be invested strategically into sustainable youth businesses. Provincial executives were therefore mandated to establish companies, identify opportunities within their provinces and submit quotations based on their agreed resolutions.
Approved allocations were as follows:
1) • Manicaland – 2 × 75-seater buses
2)• Masvingo – 2 trucks and 2 trailers
3)• Bulawayo – 3 × 20 cubic tipper trucks
4)• Harare – 2 × 20 cubic tipper trucks and 1 front loader
5)• Mashonaland East – 3 × 20 cubic tipper trucks
6)• Midlands – 2 trucks and 2 trailers
7)• Mashonaland West – 2 tipper trucks and 1 front loader
8)• Matabeleland South – 3 tipper trucks
9)• Matabeleland North – 3 tipper trucks
10)• Mashonaland Central – pending approval
These are not individual businesses, but structured provincial companies that must operate professionally and transparently. Proper banking processes must be followed, taxes must be paid, business regulations must be respected and integrity must always be maintained.
Financial reports will also be submitted regularly to ensure transparency, accountability and proper supervision through the committee established to report to the National Executive.
Our objective is to ensure continuity, create employment opportunities for young people and build sustainable businesses that will grow beyond individuals. Most importantly, we want to account properly to His Excellency President Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa and ensure that we do not disappoint the confidence and support he has invested in the youth through this empowerment initiative.
For the avoidance of doubt, even myself as Secretary for Youth Affairs, I did not have direct access to the funds. My responsibility was to facilitate and coordinate the agreed arrangement between the Principal and the youth structures.
This programme is about productivity, discipline, accountability and national development.
