Replay?! Really nuna? 😆
As soon as I found out that Clo’ver was going to dance to this song, I was really excited. But at the same time, I felt a little sorry for them too. 😂
I have to say, this song is basically a kpop classic from when I was still in high school. It’s a 4 chorus song, but all four choruses have completely different choreography with almost no repetition! And there are so many counts to memorize. It looks easy, but it’s actually really difficult.
Back then (to Replay era), creating choreography was all about catching delicate detail—every 16-count, every 32-count. So this piece was filled with “one and-a, two e and-a, three-and-a…” nonstop. 😆 Like what Ashi once said on his X that this activated all his senses. 👂👀👃👄✋🦶
At first, we were discussing whether we should just loop the choreography from the first chorus because rehearsal time was limited. Maybe just use Chorus 1 four times? Would everyone even wanna memorize that long of a piece? (Especially with additional things to memorize like microphone, the staging from the mini stage → catwalk → main stage transitions, and even Korean lyrics to memorize.)
But what I got back from these guys was... No one wanted to simplify it. No one gave up.
Honestly, we didn’t have that much time to rehearse. But they really put their hearts into it. Whatever COULD be made lighter or easier, we simply didn’t. WHY MAKE IT EASY WHEN WE CAN GO HARD EH? That’s literally the mischievous attitude I got back from Clo’ver (Like YOLO!! let’s do the whole thing yahhhh) 😂
So okay then—if everyone wants to go all in, let’s do it! No one stopped anyone (a little guilty here as a teacher lol). In the end, they performed the original choreography for the entire song, plus extra spins, walks, transitions, and more.
To be honest, the amount of choreography in this one song is so much that if you spread it out, it could probably cover 2–3 regular songs. 😅
This time, I really feel their performer spirit and dedication. Time to sleep may be running short, but their determination has never gone down.
So yeah even when something can be done the easy way, Clo’ver isn’t the type to take the easy way just because they can. 😂👏🍀🍀🍀🍀🕺🔥 #CLO_VER
