@jeremy_average@higgyboson Important point that, loads of people want to rent out their house for a year to travel, or to see if they like living elsewhere. Now they can't, it's an 8 week rolling contract. It's wide open for others to exploit too, anybody can rent a house for just 2 months, a disaster!
@TotalMotorcycle I've a 1962 Vespa but have had modern scooters 125cc up to the 600cc Silverwing. All were great. I am waiting until the useless trend for making them look the equivalent of "adventure" bikes before buying another. There is nothing like a Ruckus or Morpheus at the moment.
@AndrewBrazier1@PlinthBotherer5 Yes. But you should be able to earn more by simply being more productive. That's how l escaped, l was 1 of 5 workers, all doing the same job, all earning a different wage out of a wage budget. That's chance has gone, there's no escape today.
@fergustp@PlinthBotherer5 When l started it was normal to have 5 people doing the same job and paid different wages. 2 on good money top workers, 2 on average money, average workers and 1 slacker on a low rate with the company hoping he/she was looking to leave ASAP. All 5 now low paid, forever.
@man_got48295@PlinthBotherer5 I actually wound down doing these shifts and they were sought after positions. Like l said, some value the free time and you can "stretch" your holiday allowance. I accept they don't suit everybody.
@AndrewBrazier1@PlinthBotherer5 Any % affects everybody, everybody's wage can't rise. The MW was to protect people starting out, but it's changed to enslaving everybody without sought after skills in a lifelong low paid default wage rate. By design? Great way to control a dependent dispirited workforce.
@andrewwhitty@PlinthBotherer5 But "up" for what? Increased productivity? Nope. You've a default wage rate now, no more "starter" wages, where a shelf stacker earns the same as a health worker on a geriatric or stroke ward, it's ludicrous.
@AndrewBrazier1@PlinthBotherer5 I disagree with you. My starting wage, adjusted for inflation was HALF today's minimum wage. And l was grateful for the start as l didn't intend to be low paid for long. That chance to progress generally no longer exists, it's bad for employees and it's bad for productivity.
@andrewwhitty@PlinthBotherer5 It's a default wage regardless of work ethic or aspirations. I am so glad it didn't exist when l was 18, instead of cracking on & retiring early l'd have been stuck in a drip fed "just enough" existence till 67. There's no escape for 10's of millions but they are fast asleep.
@PlinthBotherer5 You are tied up for 5 days a week in those jobs, with this you've got 4 free days, it's a huge plus for many. Also you can take 12- 16 days off on holiday but only lose 8 days holiday allowance.
@estadios_Spain I visited both clubs and didn't have a preference. I thought it was a cracking game of football and a good advert for Liga2. Las Palmas were good last night but Mรกlaga just about deserved it over the 2 games.
@MungoJerryLTD I'm past 60 and that is the first time my life l've read/heard somebody "not liking" that song. Sometimes you read people saying The Beatles were rubbish.๐
@YourPope2026@MaCgroupUK@AJMacDonaldJr@ClarkeMicah Then you'll remain oblivious to the results which showed the helmeted rider was more at risk of a vehicular collision. I don't want the collision more than l want a tiny degree of protection in one.
@YourPope2026@MaCgroupUK@AJMacDonaldJr@ClarkeMicah Who's pushing a dangerous agenda? Haven't seen one and in all the years of helmet debates (with no winner) l've not read one person advocating the non-use of helmets. Without a proven nett benefit it should remain a personal choice.
@YourPope2026@MaCgroupUK@AJMacDonaldJr@ClarkeMicah You can Google the thesis, it is from Bath University. IlRC the guy was actually knocked off twice whilst wearing a helmet. They also touch on risk compensation, it's very interesting. Again, l am pro choice anti compulsion.
