As we were winding down a 6 hour visit to Tagus Estuary today, my guide Bernardo Barreto said, “I think I found something really special” and he pointed at a line of pink blobs about 2 football fields away from us in the distance. We got closer and I was able to shoot this video of a flock of Greater Flamingoes. #Lisbon #Lisboa #bird #birdwatching #birdphotography #birding #flamingo
"I have wings!" This nestling Red-tailed Hawk shows that it soon will be ready to fly, at 180 Central Park South today. Clearly Mom has been an excellent provider for both remaining youngsters.
My first time seeing a Dunlin in breeding plumage. I've only seen them in non-breeding plumage when they migrate through in the Fall. They get their name from their non-breeding plumage, which is a grayish-brown color often called "dun."
