BREAKING: Gavin Newsom brilliantly dunks on MAGA House Speaker Mike Johnson after he suggests that the California governor should be brutally "tarred and feathered" for opposing Donald Trump's fascist crackdowns in Los Angeles.

Johnson never stood a chance against the Democratic superstar...

"The president said possibly in jest that if he were [Border Czar] Tom Homan he would arrest Gavin Newsom, do you believe that Newsom should face consequences in a legal way?" a reporter asked Johnson at a press conference.

"Umm... Uh. Look, I.... This is not my lane. I'm not gonna give you legal analysis on whether Gavin Newsom should be arrested but he ought to be tarred and feathered I'll say that," said Johnson. "Look he's standing in the way of the administration and the carrying out of federal law, right?"

Tarring and feathering was an incredibly cruel form of public torture that was first popularized in medieval times. The victim would be stripped naked, coated in hot tar, then doused in feathers and run out of town. Suggesting that such a punishment should be inflicted on a sitting governor amidst an ongoing crisis is irresponsible at best and a flagrant incitement to violence at worst.

"He is applauding the bad guys and standing in the way of the good guys," Johnson continued. "He is trying... He is a participant, an accomplice in our federal law enforcement agents being not just disrespected but assaulted."

Despite what Johnson is asserting, the "good guys" are most certainly not the ICE agents who are kidnapping people, denying them due process, and tearing apart innocent families on behalf of a convicted felon president. The "good guys" are the people who are standing up to these fascists.

"Uh, this is a serious problem and, uh, the governor is now filing a lawsuit against the president. What a joke. Do your job man. That's what I'd tell Gavin Newsom: Do your job," Johnson added. "Stop working on your rebranding and be a governor."

The irony here is that if Johnson were interested in doing his own job he would immediately move to impeach and remove Donald Trump for any one of his myriad crimes including his blatant corruption and bribery, his continued defiance of the courts, or his circumvention of the law to send the National Guard into Los Angeles.

"Stand up for the rule of law. He's not doing that," Johnson continued. "So I don't know what the ultimate measure will be there but I know that in the interim time the President of the United States is showing real leadership and we're not going to allow LA to burn."

It must be noted that the chaos unfolding in Los Angeles is a direct result of escalatory actions taken by the Trump administration. State and local officials do not want the National Guard or Marines in the city but Trump needs the violence to worsen so that he can look tough to his supporters.

"We've seen this movie before, right? " Johnson added. "This thing gets out of hand real quickly especially in a big city like that and if local and state officials are unwilling or unable to do their job the President of the United States will do his and we support that fully."

This man is a coward of the lowest order. Just like every other spineless politician in the Republican Party he makes sure to lace all of his remarks with fawning praise of Donald Trump, the worst president in American history.

True to form, Gavin Newsom didn't back down in the face of Johnson's attacks.

"Good to know we’re skipping the arrest and going straight for the 1700’s style forms of punishment. A fitting threat given the @GOP want to bring our country back to the 18th Century," Newsom wrote on X, sharing a clip of the tar-and-feathering quote.

Where Johnson's comments were rambling and riddled with lies, Newsom's were succinct, honest, and cut right to the point. Democrats want to bring the United States into the coming century. Republicans want to sink us into a MAGA Dark Age.

BREAKING: Donald Trump announces his plans to destroy the White House by paving over the historic Rose Garden to give it a more parking lot feel — appropriate for a president with infamously bad taste.

This is spitting in the eyes of the American people....

"Are you… are you paving over the grass here?" Fox News host Laura Ingraham asked as she toured the White House with Trump.

"What was happening is, it’s supposed to have events. Every event you have, it’s soaking wet," Trump replied. "People can’t— And the women with the high heels, it’s just too much."

"That’s where you did the Kavanaugh thing and Amy Coney Barrett," Ingraham pointed out.

"The grass just, it doesn’t work," Trump replied. "And we have a gorgeous stone and everything else. But you know, we use it for press conferences and it doesn’t work because the people fall into the, you know, into the wet, the soaking wet..."

"The roses stay? The grass goes?" Ingraham asked.

"The roses stay," insisted Trump. "No, it’s a rose garden. All of this stays. Just the center section. I think it’s gonna be beautiful. I think it’s gonna be more beautiful."

Of course, without the grass and with the addition of stone, the roses will look forlorn and completely out of place.

Last month, The New York Times reported that Trump intends to transform the Rose Garden so that it will "resemble a patio like the one he has at Mar-a-Lago."

Only a man with aesthetics as ugly as Trump could suggest a thing. The White House is supposed to be the People's House. Instead, Trump is turning it into just another hideous Trump property.

BREAKING: A respected Irish Catholic bishop joins the fight against MAGA by throwing his full-throated support behind the U.S. Episcopalian bishop who called out Donald Trump to his face last month.

Real Christians all around the world are standing up to Trump together...

"Brigid’s approach to healing was inseparable from her sense of justice. She did not merely tend to wounds, or weakness, but sought to address the inequalities that left people vulnerable in the first place," said Bishop Michael Router of the Archdiocese of Armagh at the Shrine of St. Brigid.

"Her acts of charity and service echoed Christ’s call in the scripture to love our neighbors as ourselves. This integrated view of compassion and justice is a striking contrast to the normal situation, in the past and even in the present in many societies, where vulnerable people often face neglect or sometimes even hostility," he added.

He paralleled the beloved saint's actions with those of Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde, who decried Trump's cruel policies while he was sitting in the audience at Washington D.C.’s National Cathedral.

Bishop Router praised her sermon, stating that it was "a forthright and courageous sermon to give, but it was also in many ways a standard sermon about the basic Christian principles of loving one’s neighbor and about being charitable and generous in our dealings with those less fortunate."

In her sermon, Budde called for protecting marginalized migrants as well as LGBTQ+ people who understandably feel threatened by the MAGA regime.

"Let me make one final plea, Mr. President," Budde said, looking at Trump. "Millions have put their trust in you. And as you told the nation yesterday, you have felt the providential hand of a loving God. In the name of our God, I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now."

After praising Budde, Bishop Router expounded on his true Christian ideas, stating that justice is not simply alleviating immediate suffering but working towards "true compassion."

He also drew attention to the intense backlash that Budde's remarks drew from right-wing circles—

"It is amazing the negativity that a simple, sincere statement of Christian beliefs can engender," said Router. "It is a wake-up call to all of us on the challenges inherent in trying to live out our Christian faith in today’s fractured world."

Let this be a message to anyone out there who calls themself a Christian. You cannot support Donald Trump's cruel, fascist policies and claim to follow the compassionate teachings of Jesus Christ.

BREAKING: Donald Trump and Elon Musk get slammed with bad news to end their week as two prominent government watchdogs launch audits into DOGE's possibly illegal access to sensitive systems.

This is quickly turning into a train wreck for MAGA...

"We expect to begin our fieldwork immediately," said Treasury Deputy Inspector General Loren Sciurba. "Given the breadth of this effort, the audit will likely not be completed until August; however, we recognize the danger that improper access or inadequate controls can pose to the integrity of sensitive payment systems."

"As such, if critical issues come to light before that time, we will issue interim updates and reports," he said.

The Treasury’s Office of Inspector General and the Government Accountability Office informed the Senate that they are investigating DOGE's access to a sensitive payment system located within the Treasury Department's Bureau of the Fiscal Service.

The audit is designed to evaluate the "adequacy of controls" that allow and restrict access to the crucial system, as well as to assure that payments are being made legally within the bounds of existing regulations.

Additionally, the Treasury Department's inspector general is going to "follow up on any allegations of improper or fraudulent payments."

The GAO informed Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ron Wyden — who have been extremely vocal about their DOGE concerns — that it had accepted their call to investigate Elon's organization and its employees' "unprecedented access" to the Treasury Department payment system.

The watchdog stated that it will carry out "one body of audit work and issue multiple reports, if needed."

This is the last thing in the world that Trump and Musk wanted. They were hoping that they'd get to gut and loot our federal government behind closed doors, without an ounce of transparency.

Instead, the watchdogs are pouncing.

BREAKING: Democrats go right for Elon Musk's jugular and introduce a bill to ban special government employees from obtaining federal contracts — directly threatening his lucrative government gravy train.

The best part is the name of the bill...

Representative Mark Pocan introduced the legislation which is titled "Eliminate Looting of Our Nation by Mitigating Unethical State Kleptocracy (ELON MUSK)."

"Elon Musk gets more than $20 billion in contracts from the US government and bought his way into a new role in the government where he can direct even more money to himself. Enough," Pocan wrote on X.

"My new bill, the ELON MUSK Act, will end this grift!" he added.

Musk's so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has become a lightning rod for criticism as the billionaire's unelected minions work to gut the federal government by rummaging through the Treasury Department's systems.

"@ElonMusk is ripping us off and like millions of Americans across the country, I’m pissed," Pocan added in another post.

"I’m taking action by introducing the ELON MUSK Act, preventing grifters like him from getting richer while pillaging our tax dollars for himself," he wrote.

Pocan is absolutely right. Musk's increasing control of our government while making money off government contracts is the definition of a conflict of interest. He and Trump are transitioning us from a democracy into a full-blown oligarchy.

Enough is enough. Pass this bill immediately.
