Hi everyone, as you know I am a Pre service teacher at CSU FoCo. I have been partnered with an in service teacher for my #EDUC331 class to work on an SEL lesson plan. In this thread, I want to tell you about it!
Once I was finished with the video, I downloaded it to @edpuzzle and created an online lesson plan, with questions, comments, notes, and a quiz all in one.
I made a slide deck about my lesson, and recorded myself on @screencastomatic (if you haven’t used it, highly suggest). I was able to screen share, and record my voice over the slides
I created a lesson plan about how mindfulness can be channeled through different environments, and we can tap into this through using the five senses and writing about it
5 Things I Wish Children Knew About Their Teacher:
1) Just how much they want you to do well
2) How much hard work goes into you
3) How much they take your troubles home with them
4) They’d pretty much do anything for you
5) How much enjoyment they get from working with you
@Bigler_Michelle I love this!!!! I have been learning about fixed vs growth mindset in EDUC350! Kendra has talked heavily about how growth mindset is very important to students and their thinking! #pstpln
@Bigler_Michelle This came up in one of my other classes but in the form of giving reading quizzes and punishing students for getting answers wrong. When, we as teachers, did not allow enough analysis time for the students to go back and understand the material #pstpln
I have really been enjoying @gimkit to make games for my kiddos! This is something that I never had, and is self-paced! Try it out at https://t.co/GlCkMu7bHy

I have always been told, “there is no such thing as a bad kid, just bad decisions.” More teachers need to have this outlook in the classroom when addressing situations! #edchat
Race and discrimination are a huge part of our education system in the U.S. The achievement gap is still there, while everyone is progressing, the gap is staying the same! #edchat
Consequences of lack of progress in integrating schools for black children:
* It depresses #education outcomes for black students.
* It bolsters segregation by economic status, with black students being more likely than white students to attend high-poverty schools.

@al_skillz Currently working on a GimKit for my kiddos on the difference between growth and fixed mindset! Took a look at your blog, and I think it is going to help me a lot! #edchat
As an aspiring future English teacher, something that will take place in my classroom is reading... but my big question is “how do we understand what types of books our students enjoy reading if we don’t even know what kind of books we enjoy reading?” #ptspln
The picture below depicts the typical stigma technology has in the classroom... with times changing, we must change our thinking and use technology and social media to enhance our learning! #celebratemonday#pstpln
@DarlenneGuerra @Bigler_Michelle Hi Darlenne! I am excited to see what you tweet and observe throughout the week! I am excited to learn from you! #ptspln
Hey y’all! I am currently a third year student at Colorado State University! #gorams I am beginning this challenge in hopes to learn and grow from the experience and connections it may lead me to! #pstpln
