NuScale Power $SMR
Nuclear is an extremely volatile sector but it's still early. If you're bullish on energy and compute, you cannot be bearish on nuclear particularly advanced reactors like small modular reactors (SMRs) and microreactors. They address the core limitations of traditional large reactors (high capex, long build times, inflexibility).
At the moment the commercial traction across the industry is very limited as a result of regulatory and policy headwinds but imo the landscape has improved materially but there's still alot of important discussion required to move forward. Permits should not have to go through a review period of ~10 yrs.
Just recently NJ pushed to add new nuclear generation https://t.co/K4hECYE7kW and NY Governor Hochul appears to have changed her stance on NY https://t.co/IpTvtN4sQm
NuScale is still a pre-rev company so will continue to trade like one but what stands out is that they're one of the only in the world with a U.S. NRC Standard Design Approval for SMRs and have a potential major utility partnership w/ENTRA1 in the TVA (a pro business and power friendly region). They also have a strong liquidity position of $1.2B
The recent -87% correction has now landed price into a strong liquidity zone where its formed a weekly bullish divergence, a major reason why it has my attention. I'm very bullish on energy and think nuclear is a space to follow and be allocated to through 2030
For pure play exposure to this shift there's also Oklo $OKLO and Nano Nuclear Energy $NNE
Market rotating back into nuclear stocks again, which were crushed in recent months:
Nano Nuclear Energy +10.4% after it acquired nuclear logistics and transportation company Secured Transportation Services LLC for $13 million. Secured Transportation will allow Nano Nuclear to scale through spent fuel, HALEU fuel and advanced reactor components transportation, according to a release
Oklo +10% after the DOE selected it for advanced negotiations under the Surplus Plutonium Utilization Program. The program will give Oklo surplus plutonium for conversion into nuclear fuel “This program creates a pathway to use existing surplus material as bridge fuel for advanced reactors to bring more reactors online sooner,” CEO Jacob DeWitte wrote in a release
Vicor Corp. +7.7% after it raised its 2Q revenue guidance to $142 million from $126 million. Vicor received a new licensee for its power system technology, which is expected to raise product revenues and royalties, according to a release
Other nuclear stocks also gained: NuScale +5.4%, Vertiv +5.1%
