@FaithJasper4 Exactly! How would organizations even monitor the use of PEDs if they were allowed. And I agree that health issues would be more promonant as some athletes would ignore the long term health risks. #Lab8KIN11019
@JaredNoyes3 This comment was interestesting!I see your point and agree that some athletes do have natural advantages over others However how do organizations control who can benefit from the use of PEDs? The athletes with natural abilities would have an even greater adavantage with PEDS
However, there are many new drugs coming to market, making it harder to police. It’s not a lost cause, but it will always be a battle. Sport organization must continue to develop their methods of policing to adjust to the new and more complex drugs. #Lab8KIN11019
I don’t think the policing of performance enhancing drugs is a lost cause because as science develops, they are continuing to develop new methods to catch performance enhancing drugs. #Lab8KIN11019
@Hallie44063893 I think it is so important for future generations to see their own succeed! Jordin Tootoo is a great example and roll model for youths! I also think more attention needs to be put towards mental health in Indigenous communities. #Lab5KIN11019
@cochrane_kin110 Do you think it is important for players/athletes to receive recognition for their involvement with the community? Personally, I think giving recognition could encourage other atheletes to do their part. What do you think? #Lab5KIN11019
@BrendanHerk @BriannaKin110 You make a very good point! Not one single athlete can change the world. If many more athletes decide to step forward in support of the LGBT communty, I think we would begin to see more acceptance. #Lab5KIN11019
@cochrane_kin110 I think anti-bullying campaigns are so important at this time. With all the effects bullying has, sometimes people need here something is bad from someone they look up to. A high profile athlete such as Grady Jarrett is a good example. #Lab5KIN11019
Connor McDavid and Canadian Tire JumpStart program are helping to bring more sport and physical activity into Indigenous Communities. Having high profile athletes being involved with these Communities, creates awareness for troubles these communities are facing. #Lab5KIN11019
@cochrane_kin110@KIN110UofR I agree with this! I think having the ability to perform in multiple sports and activities is more
important than being specialized in one! More options the better!
@BriannaKin110 @KIN110UofR I completely agree! DMP's and physical skills should be taught to enable youth to transfer to each sport and daily life activities. #earlyspecialization#KIN1102019
@KIN110UofR Iv learned in my education classes that early specialization isn’t a good thing for youth. They end up missing certain developmental stages and are only able to excel in their specific sport. Create lifetime movers with developmental movement patterns that relate to each sport.
@KIN110UofR Networks such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter make it so information about our favourite teams or athletes is available to us almost as soon as the information is released. A negative about this is when an athlete wishes to keep something private, it is almost impossible.
