As someone who always loves to convey messages in a discreet and deliberate manner, T.O.P seemingly wants his fans to search and decipher the deep layers of meaning he embeds within his works.

By now, many of you have likely held the Another Dimension album in your hands and flipped through the lyric pages of the CD version. But has anyone noticed that on every single page, the characters “.” and “-” make an appearance? This is none other than Morse code.

Alongside the use of Roman numerals, T.O.P cleverly inserted Morse code to represent the page numbers of each lyric sheet.

Not only that, but in the intro of the track “Another Dimension Holy Dude,” did you catch those rhythmic “beep beep beep” sounds playing in the background? A fan on X tried importing the song into audio processing software to isolate and clean the audio layers, boost the frequencies, and decode the Morse code based on the sound waves. The resulting code fetched was:

And this sequence spells out: TEMPO.

As for what “Tempo” means, long-time fans surely know, it was T.O.P's stage name back during his days in the underground scene.

Why Morse code? And why is the message “Tempo”?

“Tempo” signifies both the rhythm in music and the name representing his past self, before stepping into the cutthroat world of showbiz. It feels as though T.O.P is using Morse code to beam a signal to the "Tempo" of yesteryear, like a timeless communication with his past self.

Fascinatingly, Morse code was also historically utilized in EME (Earth–Moon–Earth) technology, a telecommunications technique of transmitting radio signals from Earth to the Moon and receiving the reflected signals back, effectively turning the Moon into a natural mirror for audio and radio signals.

Could T.O.P also be "shooting" a signal carrying the name Tempo to the Moon, as an alternative to an actual voyage, to seek artistic inspiration?

In 2007, Scottish artist Katie Paterson created the famous artwork Earth-Moon-Earth (Moonlight Sonata Reflected from the Surface of the Moon). She converted Beethoven’s "Moonlight Sonata" into Morse code, transmitted the signal from Earth to the Moon, and received a reflected version that returned fragmented, with many missing notes absorbed by the Moon's craters. That distorted composition was later played on an automated, playerless grand piano in an exhibition space, creating a haunting piece about the breakdown of communication and the ghostly, silent presence of the Moon.

Just these small details are enough to show how T.O.P always embeds intricate layers of meaning into his art. Without being flashy or trying to explain everything, he leaves it to the fans to explore, feel, and piece the puzzle together themselves.
