So far women have given no choice in the matter. The actual and practical elements should be taken care of by the court instead of going into the roots. Women should be given the autonomy to make decisions for them and the court should take all this into consideration. (2/n)

After Karnataka Government's ban on use of Hijab in schools, the SC delivered a split verdict on 13th October regarding the issue. While one judge affirmed that the state government is authorized to enforce uniform in schools, the other considered hijab a matter of choice. (1/n)

National Medical Commision (#NMC) has declared #conversiontherapy as an illegal practice that LGBTQ+ youth are subjected as an act of professional misconduct. We hope this reflects light on the practice, and more strict decisions are taken against it.

#LGBTQ+ people don't need to be cured, and interventions that seek to make a person straight or cisgender can cause significant long term harm to victims. People who underwent conversional therapy had serious psychological distress, and higher depression and suicides rates. (1/n)
