Interesting poster citing cytokeratin 17 (https://t.co/qRzkJ86wBh) use in vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia. This marker was published previously alongside p16 to distinguish atypical immature squamous metaplasia from CIN III. #USCAP2024

Recurrence was most common in cases with VIN at margin and occurred either quickly (suggesting residual disease or after years. The documented recurrence after isolated CK17+ at margin recurred after 60 months; the other 2 cases with CK17+ at margin had shorter follow-up. Of note, both cases with negative margins recurred. Given the interval of 15-22 months, these may be recurrences or new lesions. Additional studies with longer clinical follow-up are needed to better evaluate the significance of CK17+ epithelium at margin.
