D-2 Then i watched today's 2nd movie for #Noirvember: "Time Out of Mind" (1947, Robert Siodmak). Sold as noir, classified as noir but - if you ask my opinion - it's not a noir. It's a ''Gainsborough type gothic'' melodrama. A nice one, i actually think the harsh criticism it gets

Where are the garage bands? The good vocalists? The great solos? Is it too much to want your singers to sing? Where are people playing actual instruments? And music without the huge amount of production , music that doesn't sound like is 100% artificial or just spoken? It's bad.
