Andrew Powers is the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,946 points! He was an all-conference selection all 4 years and was Centennial Conference Player of the Year in 2009. Under Coach Petrie, Andrew helped his team to back to back NCAA berths in '08 and '09, while winning the Conference in '09.
Coach Petrie and Andrew will be enshrined into the Hall of Athletic Honor this coming fall on October 16th.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Coach Curley. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Curley family, the @McDaniel_MBB team, and the entire McDaniel community. His dedication and impact on so many lives will never be forgotten.
It broke my heart earlier today when I received the news that @mcdanielsports MBB coach Kevin Curley had died overnight after a five or so month fight with esophageal cancer. I’ve known Kevin for a long time having worked at McDaniel as a broadcaster, announcer, and producer for a number of years. He was one of my favorite reasons to show up to a game. Always had a smile on his face. Always had time to chat in pregame while teams warmups. We talked so much we’d have to get reminded we had an actual pregame interview to conduct!
That pregame routine remained when I saw him in February at Gettysburg. Unbeknownst to him and by complete chance, I was told of his cancer fight on my drive to the arena. It wasn’t public.
I made sure to go sit down next to him in pregame. He wouldn’t let on to the diagnosis, so we sat and chatted about everything else - his team, making the conference playoffs, and more. I savored every second. And then, like usual, we had to be reminded about how much time was on the clock until game time. After the game, I insisted he have my number so we could stay in touch.
It was the last time we talked.
One of the long running jokes we had was my mission should he and his brother’s teams made the NCAA Tournament their teams be matched against one another in the first round. The two brothers never played in the regular season (only scrimmages) for “family” reasons. 😁
Sadly, that won’t happen now either.
My thoughts go out to Kevin’s wife and kids, his brother, Greg, and family, extended family, along with Kevin’s team, the entire McDaniel athletic department, and college as a whole.
Kevin was a great coach who didn’t get the accolades but got more out of players and teams than almost any other coach could have accomplished. They were always playing the role of spoiler and there are a number of games I can recall they did just that … including this season at JHU as Kevin coached having come directly from treatment and with a chemo bag still attached to him.
He was a great guy and a better human. I’m heartbroken.
Cancer truly sucks. Far too many good people especially in #NCAAD3 have been taken because of it.
Thank you Kevin for being a friend. Until we chat again.

I played against Coach Curley's teams at Muhlenberg but got to know him as McDaniel's broadcaster for 7 years (or so). Kevin always got the best out of his teams. Ask any coach he went up against...
One of my favorite things to do with Kevin was to sit on the bench with him 20-25 before tip. The team would be warming up in front of us but he would just want to talk. We'd talk the latest in my career, my family, etc.
My heart breaks for his family and the McDaniel community. Kevin was a great person.
Rest in Peace, Coach.
Our condolences to his family, friends, colleagues and the entire @McDanielCollege community.
One of the really good ones.
May his memory be a blessing #d3hoops
Sad news from the college basketball world. McDaniel head coach Kevin Curley passed away last night after a courageous battle with cancer. The coaching veteran was the all-time winningest coach in McDaniel history and by all accounts a great person. Thoughts are with his family and team during this unimaginably tough time.
Counting down the days! Limited spots remaining, we don’t want you to miss out on awesome moments like these!🔥🔥🆙🐻
