howling mutant guy’s entire audience slandering him for having a non-white kid and the guy has zero self reflection about the following he’s cultivated. whole thing is sad
This is flat out disrespectful to the Indian pilot who risked his life, got stabbed a few times to save the plane from being hijacked.
This headline puts him at the same level as the terrorist who was trying to hijack the airplane.
Given the past behavior of the BBC, I am inclined to say that this is deliberately misleading. They have a history of promoting anti-Indian sentiments and this is just another example of it.
13 Hindu temples and 2 Jain temples were also demolished without any violence in Ujjain, but when a mosque was demolished, there was stone pelting and violence and the police acted simultaneously. So, don’t play the victim card. Have the guts to write the truth
1986: Indian flight attendant Neerja Bhanot saved 360 passengers from a plane hijacked by Palestinian terrorists, sacrificing her own life.
2026: Indian origin pilot Smit Machhar saved 180 passengers from an Omani attacker, risking his own life.
When humanity is in danger, Indians step up. 🇮🇳
@Iyervval I think it is worthwhile noting that Oman, in the past has been a half decent mediator between the west and the Middle East, may have changed course. Biggest evidence is when they were in agreement with the Iranians on charging tool in the St of Hormuz. Their interests r changing
If it was a Pakistani Pilot in the Cockpit instead of Indian one, rather than stopping he would have been giving tips to the hijacker pilot
