Here's a summary of how my year of carnivore went in 2024.
Hopefully I can inspire people in 2025.
🦁 Started carnivore January 1, 2024. More of a Lion Diet version of Carnivore. Pretty much did a cut until the end of June except for a one month carb relapse in April (birthday month...cake triggered me) but we will call it a refeed. In those six months I lost a total 15.6lbs of fat and managed to gain 0.1lbs of muscle. So I take that as I was able to maintain all my muscle while cutting a ton of bodyfat.
🥚 It bulked in the summer. I did Vince Gironda's 36 eggs a day diet which is supposed to have similar effects as a mild cycle of steroids. I gained 8lbs of muscle in those 8 weeks but unfortunately it came with 10lbs of fat cuz for half of that time I was eating up to 1500 calories above maintenance. I was doing regular blood tests before, during and after this EGGperiment. My inflammation and blood glucose levels improved significantly even tho they were never bad. My cholesterol skyrocketed which was kind of the whole point of this diet since cholesterol is the precursor for hormones like testosterone. My vitamin d levels increased significantly too which cholesterol has a part in.
🍂 The Fall was a mini cut to get rid of the fluff gained during my summer bulk. Lost it all plus more.
⛄December 1st I started my winter bulk which I will be on until the end of February. Initially tripled my calories compared my mini cut which is a bit less than double my maintenance. I was eating these calories in strict carnivore foods and was still watching the fat melt off my body. Then I ate a SALAD...and gain 2lbs the next day. My waist increase by an inch in a day. Lol it was just bloat and water weight. The weight dropped off then moment I dropped carbs again.
⚖️ I lost ~30lbs of fat in 2024
💪 I gained ~10lbs of muscle in 2024
📏 In total I lost ~5 inches around my waist in 2024
🤯 I went from ~20% body fat to close to 10% in 2024
🏋️ I've blown thru every PR I ever had in the gym
⚡I have the most energy and most consistent energy I've ever had in my entire life.
😴 Best sleep I've had in my entire life.
👷 More productive I've ever been in my entire life.
💰 I made 6-figures for the first time in my life
🥩 Average day of eating is 2lbs of beef and 12 eggs. Add dairy during bulks. Remove dairy during cuts. Stick of butter adds 800 calories of pure fat when I need it. A litre of egg whites adds 100g of pure protein when I need it. I'm getting about 300g of protein a day and between 250-300g of fat a day. Never more than 50g of carbohydrates in a day. My carbs come from the lactose in dairy and theres a carb in every egg I eat.
