Today, as a Ukrainian-Jewish and a scholar of the Holocaust, I feel deeply ashamed.
I never could have imagined that in my country — the country where the Nazis murdered 1.5 million Jews, the country of Babyn Yar, the very symbol of the Holocaust in the Soviet Union, a country that claims to be fighting for “freedom and democracy” — a Nazi collaborator and OUN leader like Andriy Melnyk would be buried with full state honors.
Men under Melnyk’s leadership served in the Auxiliary police under Nazi. They hunted Jews hiding in attics, basements, forests, and barns, desperate to survive the Holocaust. They guarded ghettos and camps. They marched Jews to execution sites. And they took part in the shootings alongside the Germans.
By the spring of 1943, the Holocaust in Ukraine was nearly complete. The Jewish neighbors were gone — murdered before the eyes, and often with the assistance, of Melnyk’s followers. And it was precisely then that Melnyk supported the creation of the Waffen-SS Galicia Division, whose members swore an oath to Adolf Hitler.
And today, the president of my country — a man whose own relatives were murdered by the Nazis — kneels before the coffin of this Nazi collaborator.
One could hardly imagine a greater humiliation for Jews. It is a humiliation for everyone who once believed that “Never Again” meant something in contemporary Ukraine — a country where militant ethnic nationalism increasingly dictates the politics of memory, and national identity.
@thatdayin1992 Just like they were behind Coronavirus.. Oh wait no it was the Chinese.. Same difference.. What, it was from a US lab in China? No way, not after Gates totally predicted it and laid out tge scenario. Thank God Fauchi stepped in and didnt lie about it (Iranians made him do it!)
@44BillionUSD@Iran_UN By the same principle, the US should not blockade the blockade 😂 or impose sanctions on any country, including both the blockades of Venezuela and Cuba, or confiscate and board ships anywhere in the world, or blow up boats. Rules for thee but not for me. Intl. law is dead lol
@44BillionUSD@Iran_UN It's not arbitrary if they are attacked and samr strait can be used for military purposes. Was strait arbitrarily closed before the sneak attack and US/IS war on Iran? No? There is your clue genius.
The Lebanese presidency has announced direct talks with Israel next Tuesday to discuss a potential ceasefire and future negotiations.
The “mediator” will be the US, the country that funds Israel and greenlit Israel’s invasion of Lebanon, Israel’s mass displacement of 1.2 million Lebanese and Israel’s April 8 terrorist attack on Lebanon that killed over 350 people in 10 minutes.
Mediation by Israel’s funders will be on Israel’s terms, do the Lebanese in favor of this not understand? Or they want Israel’s terms? The Lebanese government has zero leverage, except, ironically, that if the U.S. doesn’t do this theatrical performance, Iran might win.
@imetatronink@soclose2me A piece of advice I received early on as a musician. Always strive to be the worst musician in the room full of great musicians, rather than the best musician in a room full of bad musicians. I apply this all the time in my music career and it translates to other parts od my life
@Glenn_Diesen I still really do not understans why people go to his show. He has consistently been wrong on pretty much any geopolitics related issue..
@Eliseevanews The truth is that, a possibility that this ceasefire is used to track down and eliminate the leadership when they come out with a suprise strike again. This war is not over and Iran should have no reason to think it is. If for nothing else, the fact that Israel is a rouge state
@imetatronink That is correct, however I would caution everybody from celebrating, because both US and IS are incapable of keeping ceasefires. I bet on war resuming before the ceasefire expires - Plus this strategy of US agreeing while Israels attacks has been written down amd proven
@pati_marins64 I believe this is far from over, we have seen how capable are the US/IS at keeping ceasefires, and I would bet this war resumes before the ceasefire expires. Because IS cannot help themselves, they are in too deep, any will NOT abide by ceasefire. This is far from over!
Israel playing "spoiler" to fake peace the US obviously has no intention of ever making or keeping is literally one of Washington's own plans.

Chapter 5: Leave it to Bibi: Allowing or encouraging an Israeli Military Strike
"The US would encourage -- and perhaps even assist -- the Israelis in conducting the strikes themselves, in the expectation that both international criticism and Iranian retaliation would be deflected away from the United States and onto Israel."
The US has already repeatedly used this option both to provoke the previous war in 2025 and again throughout this most recent war - blaming "Israel" for strikes on Iranian targets Israel could only have hit with US mission support.
It is very possible the US will pose as wanting "peace" and have Israel do everything up to and possibly including the use of nuclear weapons against Iran to afford the US plausible deniability.
Israel is an extension of US geopolitical and military power - would not exist without US support - just like Ukraine.
Don't let people get away with blaming only Israel and granting the US impunity. Both are guilty and both must be exposed, stopped, and held accountable.
And the questions re: Israel remains. Even if US agrees it may not be able to stop the actions of Israel, and Israel does not want peace, they are too far and too deep to stop now. I bet the war comences before the end of two weeks even if just between Iran and Israel..
There isn't much to say on the matter of Iran and the US.
Unless Iran's core issues are agreed upon then in 2 weeks the war recommences.
Hearing that the US is going to insist upon no uranium enrichment and likely no ballistic missile programme.
If that is indeed the case these negotiations are already DoA.
We shall see what unfolds.
