It’s insane that Saros wasn’t called Returnal 2. Housemarque could’ve built a sci-fi anthology series based on an acclaimed and recognized brand IP; instead Saros is selling terribly, and every streamer has to answer 5,000 “is this Returnal 2?” questions per minute. Truly stupid.

To me, the most infuriating part of people’s decline in media literacy is the increasingly common wholesale abandonment of the entire concept of subtext — whether it’s in fiction, nonfiction, or even everyday life.
