@RBoldan Indeed, whilst I will platform
appropriate commercial entities at AHDB events, I think the critical difference here is that being delivered can then be (and is) questioned by the 20-50 practitioners in the room - a truly open forum if you will…
Last rodeo of the summer and a cracker it was too… 🌽🌾 Attendees from Tewkesbury to Truro and lots of genuine knowledge shared. Thanks to our host @steanbowfarms and speakers @Syngenta & @maizegrowers Watch your emails for the autumn / winter schedule @AHDB_Cereals

Not for the faint of heart yesterday (in the wind) but a stoic crowd were rewarded with some pearls of wisdom from the growing & grazing cover crops dream team. Thanks all, especially @JoMatt_Germinal@ExlanaSheep and host Bob! @AHDB_Cereals
Enthusiasm certainly wasn’t dampened or drained by the theme at Cheltenham last week. Great turnout, great speakers, a hearty breakfast and a fine day… chuffed with a quality meeting 👏 @AHDB_Cereals@andynewbold@FarmservicesLtd
@BBCNewsnight@vicderbyshire I’ll answer on Jeremy’s behalf here - the last data I saw suggested that this APR change will generate around 20hours of NHS funding.
@nvonwestenholz I like a strapline Nick - can we fairly paraphrase this into ‘these changes will ‘only’ see 37% of farmers forced to sell land - most likely to non-farming entities’ 🤔
So, #FamilyFarmTax
Say 400acre family farm at £10k/ acre = £4m
House, machinery etc £1.5m = £5.5m
£1m to £3m exempt, say £2m.
20% IHT on £3.5m is £700k.
If a generation is 28 yrs that's £25k a year IHT (paid after income tax etc)
so 0.45% of capital every year
BUT, read on⬇️
