@SteveD_CCGames Are you familiar with Dr. Who? The way they transition to a "new" Dr. whenever he "dies" could be an interesting way to frame it.
Just spitballing because I'm not 100% convinced you couldn't make your original idea work. Simply thought of some potential alternatives.
@SteveD_CCGames I think it would be fine having a place in a gritty game, but that would seriously narrow your target audience.
Could the mechanic stay the same and simply be considered a "clense" over what seems to be a form of seppuku?
Okay time for me to be the asshole apparently because Jesus Christ the messages I've woken up to.
Even if this wasn't a work, the responses to wrestle guy are ridiculous. Initially, all he did was post a selfie and say he doesn't play D&D.
That's it.
@C_M_Young I had always heard it attributed to him, but I suppose it doesn't make much a difference.
A good thought like this stands on it's own merit.
Spent Labor Day weekend with the fam in NYC!
Still found time for a "totally not competitive and just for fun" game of Midnight Taboo.
My team won, but I swear we were good sports about it.
Any other gaming families play on the vacay?

W - Winning: Ultimate victory! How important is the the W to you?
Most of us enthusiasts don't mind playing whether we win or lose, but the genuine effort to get the gold is what makes most games that much fun!
Time for a rematch.

V - Victory Points: The win condition. Even games like #CardsAgainstHumanity that aren't competitive use a system to objectively declare winners.
This mechanic can take other forms, such as hit points in MTG.

U - Undo: Takes-backsies, mulligan, whatever you call this little re-do, it is an unwritten (usually) rule of all #tabletopgames
While it surely varies from game to game, what are your feelings toward this universal mechanic?
After months of work (and over $100,000) I'm happy to unveil Board Game Twitter's first entirely AI account! My friend Christian allowed our AI to analyze all 13,000 of his tweets to synthesize a virtual Take Your Chits!
So, let's fire it up and see what it posts...OH SON OF A-
@BGInquisition Absolutely. No need to print a new version whenever we make revisions (which there are always a handful).
Also entirely necessary because we live states apart!

T - Teams: Something I don't see much of in the #tabletopgaming world. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places, but where are all the good team based games?
D&D and oldies like Taboo, Outburst, or beer pong are all that come to mind

S - Strategy: As a perfect foil to the whims of the dice, a player's influence over the game is what keeps us coming back to the table!
Not to be confused with complex mechanics, a game with multiple layers to decision making is key

R - Rolling Dice: You can cut the tension with a knife.
The clitter-clatter as they roll. The shouts of triumph or groans of defeat as fate decides the outcome.
Like the roar of an engine to a mechanic, this gamer loves dice.
