Super excited to preprint this work and extremely proud of my team @TheSainsburyLab. Many thanks to fantastic collaborators @XiaoqiFeng_m@Tolga_Bzkrt and @Cerhou
This work is spearheaded by the amazing postdoc Min Wang @Min_Wang6

TIR domain-containing proteins employ dual regulatory mechanisms to confer TaEDS1-dependent immunity in wheat #research#MolecularPlant https://t.co/NRYqIv4Fy5
Our collaborated research identified a two-layer epigenetic mechanism to silence Avr genes in Phytophthora sojae and enable host adaptation in soybean. Please check https://t.co/oncILQ5TUG
Excited to preprint work mainly by former postdocs Li Feng, Yingnan Hou @Cerhou, and the phylogenomics genius @amiralito_@TheSainsburyLab. We found a plant defense gene family enabling pathogen gene silencing & explored engineering this pathway to boost disease resistance!
@alexjmcclelland @wenboEffector@TheSainsburyLab@UCRiverside Thanks for organizing our visit. It's a wonderful day to stay with you guys. Cannot wait to drink the next cup of beer and talk about more science and life.
Super excited to see this paper out! Many thanks to wonderful colleagues @TheSainsburyLab and collaborators @Frank_Menke@danmaclean Yanli Wang (CAS)

Pathogens are notorious for producing diverse effector proteins that manipulate host cellular processes. But how is functional diversity generated in an effector repertoire? Thrilled to share our fascinating story. https://t.co/TeUj6gtA3H… #biorxiv_plants
We talked about the "small" players in plant immunity with robust function, and discussed their "shotgun" model in defeating parasites. For more details, pls check our paper @MPPjournal and highlight @BS_PP
What is RNA interference and why is it important for plant immunity?
@Cerhou 's team have investigated small interfering RNAs or "siRNAs" and their role in plant defence

I'm thrilled to share our 8-year effort @Nature describing disease resistant wheat without yield penalties! We use multiplex genome editing to create a 304-kilobase pair deletion, which revealed a novel relationship between disease resistance and growth.

We are thrilled that our senior group leader, Prof Wenbo Ma, received the Ruth Allen Award from the American Phytopathological Society for her outstanding contributions to plant pathology research.

It’s finally out! Plant cells are so smart to use these signaling molecules precisely~ BSL phosphatases jointly regulate both BIN2 and YDA to enable stomata asymmetric cell division. 🌱
Starting a research lab is tough. But, what if you had to start a lab during a pandemic?
⬇️Here, we check in with 6 new faculty members who share their experiences , from the early stages of confusion and anxiety, to also the recovery and rebuilding.
