How long is the stench of the “sham” going to corrode the meaning, worth, and very essence of the Premier League?
Listening to commentary about Manchester City’s players matching the defiance of their ownership and triumphing in adversity.
Listening to fans chorusing the names of the men running the club, wearing masks or displaying banners of their faces and jibing: “We’re Man City, we’ll cheat when we want.”
Victory being framed as “a lovely moment,” a show of togetherness as though some grave injustice has been imposed on City, rather than their hierarchy being found by an independent commission to have orchestrated financial doping on an industrial scale.
Their opponents and the rest of us wondering if any of this actually matters now and how much of it ever did?
There can be no business as usual pretence. We need a full stop to the absurdity.
We’re an actual embarrassment. It’s one thing selling the only versatile forward we have (who also offers cover for our ONLY striker at the minute), but to sell him to an actual rival, just shows those at the top only see money signs.
I haven’t been his biggest fan, but he’s been absolutely sound in the world cup, pre season and since the start of the campaign. Massive fuck up, unless 2 players who are better than him come in, which they won’t. Pathetic.
@johngibbonsblog Random but are you playing your trumpet now? I often see you at South Parkway and occasionally hear a trumpet, I live off Woolton Road just after the meads?
Won the league and deserves enormous respect for doing so, but it feels like the right decision. It felt broken and it was best for him as well as Liverpool.
There are other fingerprints on the make-up of this squad, though, and it’ll be interesting to see what happens now in terms of Hughes and Edwards.

“In loads of ways Liverpool get what they deserve: they’re appalling…I thought tonight was, in loads of ways, the epitome of what’s been a stupid season.”
“ We’re being reduced to checking that Bournemouth and Brighton don’t catch us this season.”
Post-Match Show 🔜
@NxthS95@MerPolLFC@spiritofshankly@LiverpoolDSA@HillsboroughSu1 It doesn't.... it is a homophobic reference. It is similar to when I have to explain to some away fans why the word 'Victim is Hillsborough related and therefore offensive. Lots of football clubs including ours have explained why singing that song at CFC is a hate crime.
Still trying: Please share wherever you can. Issue 323 of Red All Over The Land now available from https://t.co/SxuGHpgz2G. Available in both printed & digital formats. No price increase since 2004 & still supporting the fans.
