I’ve been on Knock LA’s admin team since 2022. I’ve coordinated skills building workshops w/ journalism orgs, overseen award winning reporting & secured major funders. Last night @GroundGameLA maliciously deleted all of my @knockdotLA accounts. Pls read our newsroom’s open letter
The LA County Supervisors approved just under $3m in settlements stemming from LASD personnel in August. Incidents include a lieutenant driving drunk and a deputy sexually exploiting a disabled woman.

23 years ago this week: Deondre Brunston was gunned down by LA County Sheriff's deputies after he threw a sandal at a police dog. My additional review of this case revealed that some of the deputies behind Deondre's death are part of a deputy gang.

#BREAKING: LA Supervisor @HollyJMitchell has written a motion directing the LA County Sheriff's Dept to identify deputy gangs within its ranks.
If passed, the names of the gangs could be made public as soon as next year.

LASD Gangs have run rampant for decades with zero accountability from the Sheriff’s Department or the DA.
Thank you @HollyJMitchell for starting a process that should have completed years ago. #GoogleLASDGangs
New from me on Patreon: the LA County Sheriff's Department has introduced a new policy for interacting with news media, including a policy for how to investigate reporters.

Today would be a great day for Luna to ban deputies of the Industry Indians who beat up teens.
New from me: Deputies who are part of the Industry Indians deputy gang beat up Joseph Perez in 2020. Months later, as he sat in jail, those same deputies assaulted a group of teens at a bowling alley.
Joseph’s mother is asking Sheriff Luna to fire them.

Several @nytimes journalists were subpoenaed by the Trump administration on Friday.
– Reporters covering AF1 security concerns have been compelled to testify before a Manhattan grand jury next week
– Federal agents turned up at some reporters' homes
– NYT calls it a "brazen act"
USC has been fighting fiercely for years to prevent the roughly 2,750 non-tenure-track faculty members from organizing and collectively bargaining their future contracts. And this time, USC is relying on President Donald Trump’s administration for help. https://t.co/9EiU3NhlBI
It's true. @groundgamela sued me for defamation after I spoke publicly about the toxic workplace they created. They are also claiming in the same lawsuit that they wrote "A Tradition of Violence", my ground-breaking series on deputy gangs that led to multiple threats on my life.
Ever since the Knock LA split, which was initiated by an overwhelming majority of the former KLA newsroom seeking editorial independence, GGLA has used its retaliatory lawsuit against me and other former KLA journalists to silence us.
@raeforla@nithyavraman These are people that are directly connected to LA city hall yet pose as grassroots activists.
Ever since @CityAttorneyLA and the cops sued me, I’ve been saying LA deserves better. And by better I most definitely did not mean GGLA.
@raeforla@nithyavraman None of this disclosed in Knock LA’s voter guide. That’s just the tip of the iceberg, and arguably the lowest-level disclosure that GGLA/KLA should’ve made on its voter guide.
Their loudest critics have been effectively silenced during a high-stakes election season that GGLA itself is directly connected to. Their former Executive Director? @raeforla’s former campaign manager. Their current Executive Director? Former council aide to @nithyavraman.
